On Sunday evening, former FBI director James Comey took to Twitter to share his hopes for the new year.
Comey wrote in the post, seemingly aimed at President Donald Trump: 'Here's hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values. Happy New Year, everybody.'
The President fired Comey back in May, and has said he was acting on the recommendation of Justice Department leaders who had faulted the FBI director for releasing 'derogatory information' about Hillary Clinton at the conclusion of the email server investigation months earlier.
Last Saturday, amid reports that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe - a frequent Trump target - intended to retire, the President also tweeted and took aim at Comey.
He wrote: 'How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin' James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife's campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?'
'The irony is most politicians would recognize that perpetuating silence post-firing would have been the most effective course,' Jacob Frenkel, a Washington defense lawyer and former prosecutor told the Associated Press.
In the event charges are brought or impeachment proceedings are begun, that kind of inconsistent messaging would present 'entertaining fodder for cross-examination.'

I do not think “ethical” means what he thinks it means.
The in-your-face arrogance of the leftist lawbreakers tells us all we need to know about Sessions. If Comey et al had a worry in the world about indictments they would stop taking backhanded potshots at Trump. But they know that with Sessions as AG there’s nothing to fear, so they keep on denigrating Sessions’ boss.
Comey is laying the groundwork for a defense conducted by the media.

The whole problem was that Comey and his buddies (they are thick as thieves) thought the FBI existed to protect Hillary and run interference for lawbreaking.

Things are upside down for Comey because he believes their job is to shill, sell, and market fiction.

I think the 8 years of W is the key to understanding just how this level of corruption can take hold here.
The first thing that W did was unilaterally declare a “New Tone” in D.C. And with that ‘new tone’, W would not investigate, much less hold accountable, anyone from the previous (Bill Clinton) administration, when there were HUGE things to investigate (giving the Chinese ICBM capability in exchange for campaign contributions, for starters).
Once it became clear that Republicans were unable, unwilling, or simply afraid to investigate, then it became MUCH EASIER to ratchet things up, to the point of wholesale corruption under Obama...and so they did. The Obama people simply had NO FEAR of being caught, much less prosecuted, considering what they got away with under Bush. Regarding Trump, he was going to lose, and lose big time anyway - so no problem with him - and, most likely, if he did somehow win, it would be made clear to him that investigating prior (particularly Democrat) administrations is simply not done in DC.
As to the ‘new tone’, it STILL blows my mind that we could elect someone as STUPID as Bush Jr. was. He should have figured out in week that the Democrats had no intention of abiding by this ‘new tone’ - it took Trump about 3 steps down the stairs in his hotel (in June 2015) to figure out who the Democrats are. To this day, I doubt anyone in the Bush family has ANY CLUE as to who they are and what they want to do to this country.

I would not be surprised if many (possibly most) of the cabal Comey is part of would be this arrogant even after having sentences handed down. They truly believe they are above the law. Whatever Sessions is doing or not doing will not affect their arrogance.
I agree - using the word “stupid” without qualifications falls right into the hands of the Left. Where W was stupid was his understanding of DC Democrats. He figured they could be tamed and work with him, as the Democrats in Texas did, to a reasonable extent, when he was governor.
Totally different in DC, though (although now the Democrats in Texas are just as radicalized, having driven all of their conservatives and moderates out).

I couldn’t disagree more. If there was a threat against Comey & co half as serious as Mueller is against Trump, the leftist lawbreakers would be watching their mouths. It is the total absence of any kind of jeopardy that has so emboldened people who are a 1000x more guilty than Trump.
this crap has to be stopped. The whole lot of them need to be investigated, and if need be put into prison. Where is the coward, swamp donkey Sessions on any of this, or is he still focused on stopping weed
