There you are! I thought we’d lost you.
Rap and hip-hop had made their appearance in the mid-Eighties, the voice of the urban African-American kept in his horrible living conditions by institutional white racism and the evils of capitalism or so I was told. It was pure rhythm with little in the way of melody and harmony. To be honest, I hated it, which is why I went back to classical music. I hoped it was just a fad.
It was just a matter of time before something in that genre made it all the way to the top. The chorus actually has melody, harmony, and a key: C minor.
I’m just running late, and of course, that’s when the internet decided to slow down to a crawl! LOL!
Took me forever to post that little table. Sheesh!
Mr. P...you are doing an epic job with your #1’s posts. Very cool!
