"Multiple deputies down" in Douglas County, Colorado, sheriff's office says

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) in Colorado says "multiple deputies are down" and a code red alert has been issued amid an "active" situation south of Denver.

The DCSO says citizens should avoid the area, while residents should shelter in place and avoid windows and exterior walls.

Been listening to some of the scanner feed. Arapahoe County. Reports on Twitter have it being a domestic. But a bomb squad is also on scene.

I've been watching on Channel 7, and at one point there must have been at least 30 vehicles on scene. So far, no real details, just a 'shelter in place' order, and 'accident alert', because ALL officers are at the scene, and won't respond to minor accidents.

Yep, most likely a “domestic” call gone bad. They are one of the potentially most dangerous calls made as emotions (and irrationality) are running high.

I was thinking more along the lines of “crazed legal marijuana user.”

If some of the scanner traffic I heard pertains to this, it sounds like this took place either in an apartment building or a multi-family dwelling. A resident below the scene reported a slug coming through the ceiling/wall. Apparently, if what I heard is related, this took place so fast there was no time to clear the building/area.

My husband’s cousin was in the Littleton PD, I don’t know if any of her family are now in law enforcement. I pray not. Prayers for the deputies and their families are going up.
