Why was this even a thing anymore? Reagan may have started this council, but there are now ways to manage the disease, and the Surgeon General should be able to handle this as well as any other public health issues at this point.

Once a government position gets created, it is hard to get rid of. Trough feeders don’t like to give up all that free money.
