A United passenger whose first-class seat on a recent flight from Houston to D.C. was given to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is firing back at the Democratic congresswoman's accusations of racism – while challenging the airline's account of the incident.
Jean-Marie Simon, an attorney and private school teacher, became the latest face of airline passenger woes when she detailed on Facebook and later to the news media how she lost her seat to the Texas lawmaker.
But despite a statement from United seeking to explain the switch-out, she's not giving up the fight. And the congresswoman's response – essentially claiming Simon made a scene because Jackson Lee, as an African-American woman, is an "easy target" – did not calm the waters.
Simon, in an interview with Fox News, rejected the racism allegation.
“That could have been Donald Duck in my seat,” Simon, a Democrat, told Fox News on Thursday. “I could not see who had boarded the flight. I didn’t even know who she was.”
Simon originally accused United of bumping her from her first-class seat on a Dec. 18 flight in order to accommodate the Texas congresswoman.
At first, Simon didn't know who was in her seat as she argued at the gate. United eventually gave her a $500 voucher and reseated her in the economy plus section. In her original Facebook post, Simon said another Texas congressman then informed her a fellow member of the delegation was in her seat, and "regularly does this" to passengers.

Liberalism as represented by Hubert Humprey, Truman and others is virtually destroyed in the Democrat party. They have been taken over by progressive - read Marxist - leftists who ave no relation to traditional liberalism.
There are a few stalwart souls who remain steadfast liberal. This is one such intellectual worth her salt.
Jackson has stepped in it deep with her and will probably be destroyed. Liberals have had all they can bear with her and the leadership of the party. When Trump brings hell down on the progressives it will be her and other bona fide liberals who will step up and reclaim the democrat party.
I’m a classic liberal as in 1776. 180 degrees opposite the Modern Liberal leftist freaks.
Remember in 1776 a conservative was a Tory Monarchist.
Headshake. There are still people who believe that Monarchy is an acceptable form of government.

For cripes sake, man, SJL will die in office of old age! And after that her stuffed mummy will occupy her favorite seat in the House because that gerrymandered district in Houston will reelect her forever. I speak from experience; my house was picked up & moved overnight into the gerrymandered district of James Clyburn here in S.C., where which district you are in depends on which side of the same street your house is located.
And which liberal pray tell will dare stand up to the Queen? Whoever does will have their eyebrows singed off before they can even plead, “I’m really not a racist. Honest I’m not”.
Face it, SJL is a pimple on the @zz of the House that will never go away. Sad, but true.
