Robert Storch was confirmed by the Senate after more than a year and nominations from two presidents.
After a turbulent year that saw the former National Security Agency Inspector General ousted for allegedly retaliating against whistleblowers, the Senate has confirmed President Donald Trumps pick to lead the oversight agency: Robert Storch.
Storch joins the NSA OIG as the first presidentially-appointed watchdog in the agencys history. Prior inspectors general have been appointed by the director of the NSA, producing a potential conflict of interest for what is intended to be an independent office.
Storch was originally nominated to the post by then-President Barack Obama in November 2016, however, the Senate failed to vote before he left office. Trump re-upped his nomination in June, with the final confirmation and presidential signature coming on Dec. 22.
He will be taking over an office that, one year ago, saw its leader, George Ellard, removed for reprisal against an agency employee reaching outthe antithesis of an inspector generals role. Storch will be expected to right the ship and bring new autonomy to the office.
"We look forward to welcoming Mr. Storch, NSA Director Adm. Michael Rogers said after his confirmation. His nomination and confirmation underline our commitment to lawfulness, transparency and the protection of legitimate whistleblowers.

Larry Storch?
Good GOD! Here we go AGAIN!!
F Troop!? I thought he’d be dead by now.
In short, this guy is a mirror of Horowitz who is going to ensure and gaurantee that
1) whistleblowers will stop NSA abuse and fully bring the agency under control and back into bounds of law, and
2) what ELSE does an OIG do? what didnt state dept have during the entire time of Hillary Clinton? investigate CRIMES. This is setting up any leaker or deep state operative abusing powers at NSA to be dealt with.
Now you understand why Brennan and Gen Mike Hayden are apoplectic, and losing their minds on twitter starting two weeks ago.
Interesting.
It looks like Trump/Sessions is gearing up to utilize these OIG to crack down on crime & fraud across all government departments.
And, the new IG will enjoy the protections made possible by Public Law 114-317, the Inspector General Empowerment Act of 2016, which was championed by DOJ OIG Michael Horowitz after Holder and Obama tried to limit his powers. The fact that lame-duck-Obama signed it into law is proof he thinks his minions are above it. We will soon see...

That’s history. See my post #10, Sundance has not yet figured out that Horowitz did not take Holder/Obama’s threats lightly. In fact he enlisted the aid of key congressmen and got a law passed to reinforce the power of IGs throughout the federal government. Few people have. But they will see proof by Jan. 15, if things go according to plan.
(Rant, rave, howl at the moon, scream in agony)
Why, why, why would Trump allow anyone nominated by Obunghole to be appointed to anything.
No decent person would accept a job from the Kenyan Commie. This guy did. From this we see he is filth who should never be in government.
Mr. President! Confront these ugly realities.
I loved Corporal Agarn. Oh wait that was LARRY Storch.
Thanks bitt.
Thanks good information !
Geez, not this carp again.
Many told us that Bob Mueller and Rod Rosenstein were "straight arrows".
Obama signed it into law in Dec. 2016, just in time to Trump.
Horowitz was an Obama pick. Apparently Obama likes Storch too.
Can anyone here confirm:
President Trump through Twitter has told McCabe "no deal" (for McCabe to retire "quietly".) ("Quietly" is my word.)
From the link: Brennan and Gen Mike Hayden are apoplectic, and losing their minds on Twitter starting two weeks ago. That should be easy for some Twitter user to confirm. (I'm not a Twitter user.)
DOJ IG Mike Horowitz is set to deliver 1.2 MILLION pages of evidence regarding politicization of the FBI and DOJ by high level officials of those agencies, on Jan. 15.
