How hard would it be to bore through steel-reinforced concrete, or for the designs with steel at ground level, torch cut, plasma cut, or even battery-powered cutting wheel your way through?
The 100,000 mules (hired people to carry dope in backpacks) do not all have boring tools. Yes, any 2nd grade army unit can blast through the wall, but we do not have a problem with military invasion on the south border. It is just ordinary criminals who can just walk over the border.
Cool thing about that, would be the destruction of federal property. So it would be more than a civil violation that most of the these invaders get.
With 24/7 multi-mode surveillance and rapid response BP teams, somehow an attempt to bore/grind/dig through, could become known as a very foolish thing to do.
I predict that Mexico, which is in a big hurt right now, will seek any means to repair relations with the US to the point of stationing its troops at the border to assist calls from US BP command posts.
The would-be border busters could face a bigger threat from the Mexico side.
How hard would it be to bore through steel-reinforced concrete,....
The testing phase will answer those questions, and the specs give minimum times.
The purpose of the wall is to slow down the border crossers. The wall, if unmanned by the BP or military, is useless. Get it? It’s called a “force multiplier”.
