One of the nation’s most prestigious liberal arts colleges is advancing a “queer theology” agenda with hopes of destabilizing traditional beliefs about what the Bible says about gender and sexuality.
Swarthmore College, founded by Quakers, is offering courses in “queering the Bible” and “queering God.” The courses were first reported by Campus Reform.
“Queering the Bible” is a one-credit class that surveys “queer and trans readings of biblical texts.”

“By reading the Bible with the methods of queer and trans theoretical approaches, this class destabilizes long held assumptions about what the Bible – and religion – says about gender and sexuality,” the course description reads.
The school’s religion department is also teaching a class that questions the sexuality of the Almighty called, “Queering God: Feminist and Queer Theology.”
“The God of the Bible and later Jewish and Christian literature is distinctively masculine, definitely male. Or is He?” the course description reads. “If we can point out places in traditional writings where God is nurturing, forgiving, and loving, does that mean that God is feminine, or female?”
Key themes of that particular class include exploring the “tensions between feminist and queer theology” and examines “feminist and queer writings about God.”
Critics blasted the college’s religion courses and suggested they were meant to undermine Christianity.
“This is about sanitizing and neutralizing the prohibitions on homosexual acts that Scripture unequivocally condemns,” one observer noted online.
The president of Truett-McConnell University, a conservative Christian school in Georgia, accused Swarthmore of prostituting the Bible.

It’s not intellectually inspired; it’s malicious and evil. Stuff like this convinced me of the existence of Satan, which turned me in to a believer.

I remember one day when my wife was telling me about how the Bible counseled “tolerance”—I found “those” passages and read them to her—subject hasn’t come up since!

I worked for some reformed Jews who’s synagogue had a lesbian rabbi with a child and she was flirty with me when I met her. Seemingly what passes for religion is write your own rules. It is as though we’ve lost the box top to the Monopoly game.
If you find that offensive you should check out The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Hunky Jesus event they have in Golden Gate Park every year. Extremely offensive. And they have kids’ activities too.
How about queering the koran?
I don’t buy GM products since the Obama Marxist takeover turned it into a union own POS.
But before that I would have bought a caddy, Lincoln or Chrysler luxury cars. I know American cars stunk in the 1980s but since the mid 90s American cars are up to parr with Japan or Europe.
currently I only buy American cars. (I Buy Chrysler’s again since Fiat bought out the government share). I don’t know the current quality of GM and like I said I currently won’t buy one.
Kind of think someone is snooty who looks down their noses at American luxury cars.
