“When my dad and uncle came back from service in “The Nam” as they called it, the VFW didn’t want anything to do with them; that’s why the Vietnam Veterans of America was formed. The VFW veterans (God Bless their service) are slowly passing away and they need more vets to keep it going. I’m sure the Iraq vets and the Afghan vets have no trouble joining, if they are.”
Well I’m a Veteran of the “Vietnam Era”.as a veteran from that period I feel we’re not really accepted by any of those organisations.We served during the Cold War when the United States finally decided that it had enough of war so all we had to worry about was the Soviet Union doing something foolish.
