If they have canceled the individual mandate, meaning you are no longer required to buy Obamacare, is anything more really required?

If you aren’t required to buy it, that already introduces competition into the pricing. Under the law the insurers are required to offer it, but you don’t have to buy it. Does that then open the door for them to offer other insurance plans, without any need for any new legislation?

That would really spike the whole issue. The Dems claim millions of people love it; they can keep it. The millions more who hate it, can now look for other plans. With one fell swoop.

You mean besides blowing up the employer mandate which will send hiring to the stratosphere?

The mandate doesn't go away until 2019. That gives a year for the replace, which better happen or the Republican Party will have the tax cut intrinsically tied to healthcare during the 2018 mid-terms. President Trump says we will replace Obamacare with something better. They better get on with it. The idea of affording universal coverage by mandating people who don't want insurance to buy it or who can't or don't want to have babies buy maternity coverage is dead. Now we need to do the things which encourage competition and solves preexisting conditions.

My son, daughter, son in law, 2 granddaughters have no health insurance. Lower middle class got priced out by Obamacare pricy mandates. Youngest son went to Haiti church mission trip twice, came back with flesh eating skin disease twice. His body has fought it off, took years. Couldn’t afford Dr.

Youngest grand, 1 yr old, has hip displacia, lots of dr visits, treatments, paying cash for all. No insurance. Baby born at home. Can afford dr, hospital. I gave her 4k for midwife. We are retired.

Lower middle class can’t get obamacare subsidy, can’t afford health insurance. Stuck in middle.

I helped youngest son sign up for subsidized health insurance for under $100 a month. I planned to pay it. Bill came in for $244 a month. L8ke I said we r retired, our Medicare charges us $1400 a month for 2 of us, they take it out of our SS checks. This hit out retirement budget pretty hard. We so rarely go to a Dr.

Oldest son has health insurance at work. $1000 a month premium, big co pays, he only makes $32K a year pays more than 1/3 of his gross income. Married since 2007, health insurance used to be affordable before obamacare

Our niece in new Mexico has so health insurance, can’t afford it.

I bet these terrorists who bulb themselves in botched attacks like subway bomber, get free emergency room and hospitalization. We pay for that.

Our kids have been unable to get health insurance. Make too much for obamacare subsidies... Too little to buy it full price, even through employers. Lower middle class.

I am so angry with GOP. John Cornyn voted TO FUND OBAMACARE. I will NOT vote for that jackass!

Sort of like EPA mileage standards. Car manufacturers have to make cheap little death boxes that nobody wants to buy, per the government's order,, and as a result, the vehicles that consumers do want to buy - vans for families, pick ups for men - have a much higher price, in order to cover the cost of churning out a fleet of government mandated crap cars.

There are still ridiculous ObamaCare mandates about coverage requirements for insurance plans. I don’t have the option of buying a low-cost plan that has an annual or lifetime cap on coverage, for example.

You still have the individual premium subsidies, the payments to the insurance companies, the Medicaid expansion, the taxes that pay for it all. All the repeal of the individual mandate does is ensure that most of those costs will go up.

The "individual mandate" required you to have an Obamacare-compliant plan. If you are no longer required to buy an Obamacare-compliant plan, then companies can offer other plans. Meanwhile, the prices of Obamacare plans will continue to rise until nobody buys them.

Wait a year, and Obamacare will die by itself.

The big thing about Obamacare was coverage of "pre-existing conditions". This was mainly for the benefit of the "gay community", for which HIV treatment is a very expensive, lifetime cost. It is the gay community which will fight most savagely for the continuation of Obamacare.
