Under an all caps Merry Christmas Glenn Reynolds alerts us to the Senate GOP tweet that embeds an interesting report from CBS News (below). In the spirit of the day, it carries tidings of good cheer.
CBS checked in with three families of varying means to ascertain the effect of the tax bill enacted last week. I was particularly interested in the impressions each of them had. A single mother making $40,000 with one kid observed: It didnt seem as they were going along that it would really affect someone like me. The wife in a couple making $150,00 with no kids thought their taxes were going north. Turning to her husband, she said: You thought we were going to have a higher tax bill. The married couple with three kids making $300,000 in California also anticipated their taxes would increase.
So much for impressions. As it turns out, they were false. In each case, the CPA consulted by CBS found that federal income taxes would decrease in 2018. But where might taxpayers in the CBS report have come by their false impressions?
This is interesting.
Undoing the lies of Pelosi/Schumer etc. is essential to blocking what is now shaping up as a Democrat tsunami next year. I don't expect to see another report like this by mainstream media, other than Fox (but we can hope).
Thank you for watching The CBS News of the Obvious.
For illegals.
Right Wing Lies, the poorest americans tax bill will end up with a 60k dollar tax bill.
Are you trying to imitate the kinds of idiotic things liberals say?
Should this person be here?
Tsunami?
Dont think so.
Yes it it shaping up as a Democrat tsunami. The Democrats lead generic congressional polls by a lot more than Republicans led before the 2010 midterms. The elections last month were terrible for Republicans. I live in VA. Republican control of the House of Delegates was not even thought to be in danger heading into election day, but as of now control is up in the air, pending 3 recount results.
Slapping down the massive lies about the tax bill is essential to limiting Democrat gains. Polling is terrible on the bill, because most people think they will pay more.
Rich libs always whine about wanting to pay more...Let’s see how many rich libs move out of calif and New York to get away from higher taxes...Kevin Dr Leon has great ILLEGAL tax scheme to help rich Californians avoid the tax...They VOLUNTEER that money to California and claim a charitable deduction....
In other news, Christmas fell on December 25 this year.
The Affordable Care Act has cost us about $40,000 since December 2013. I’ll wait for CBS to come interview me.
Virginia is ground zero of the swamp creatures. It would be news if Repubs had won.
Uh no. Republicans had a huge majority in the VA House of Delegates. Now they may have lost it. Democrat turnout was very high for a non-Presidential election, as it was in NJ and the AL Senate race. You're whistling past the graveyard.
Your point was...Dem turnout was very high. They are in survival mode.
Do you even follow the news? If Dem turnout is that high again in 2018 they will easily retake the House and possibly even the Senate. A year ago Republicans were thinking that they would get big gains in the Senate because most of the races are in states that Trump carried. If the perception of the tax bill (and other things) doesn’t change the Republicans are going to get wiped out next year.
My point? Virginia has the Dems to turn out. Nowhere else is close.
You don’t know what you’re talking about. In ALABAMA, the Democrats turned out at very high levels, and Jones won. Or does ALABAMA have the Dems to turn out. The Dems will take the House easily this year. Maybe even the Senate although I’m not predicting that.

>> “You dont know what youre talking about. In ALABAMA, the Democrats turned out at very high levels” <<
Yes, nostly from neighboring states!
Fraud ruled supreme in the election, and so did the deep state judges, ordering county election officials to break the law and destroy ballot images to prevent a proper investigation.
.
It may be that the Repubs are in trouble, but East Coast/Virginia/Alabama results don't show anything.
I guess you’ll be saying that happened in dozens of races next November.
