Cars don’t run into houses where you live?

Are you talking about cars that aren't being controlled by people? The dog attacks are usually when their owners aren't around or are unable to control the dogs.

Think you’re safe in your house? Bet you’ve got locks on the doors.

I feel safe in my house. As safe as I do when I'm out for a walk. Sure there's always the possibility that a meteor will fall from the sky and hit me, but I don't worry about stuff like that.

FWIW, one door on my house has a working lock. It's a rarity that I use it though since the locks on the rest of the doors don't work. It's somewhere on my to-do list to install operational locks on the other doors. The existing ones broke over the years. Someday maybe I'll get around to replacing them. I don't feel any real rush about it. It's been over twenty years since I had my house all locked up. My garage and some parts of my house have never had access limited by locks.

Sounds like you’ve assessed your threat level and acted accordingly. I do the same. Neighbor got burglarized over the 4;th of July I have ‘t changed anything, even though I’m vulnerable. But I’m usually home at night. You think these people have control over their dogs? Leashes, maybe. Few people have real voice- command of their dogs.
