I thought so too. But I also thought you had to be found guilty first.
Dunno.
Apparently this judge thinks he can exercise his rights as a citizen while fighting against having them removed.
Or something.

Long ago the Court ruled that leaving a traitor stateless was a cruel and unusual punishment ... maintaining that the death sentence is proper.
And it is.

The magic here is that he hasn’t been charged. He is still an American citizen being detained by federal forces as a enemy combatant. If they find him guilty of raising arms against the US, then the ACLU can’t do anything for him as he will be stripped of his citizenship and forced to deportation or prison, or both. They’re grandstanding.
