The story that followed has circulated in the military aviation world and fighter community for several years, including this write-up by former Navy F-14A Tomcat pilot Paco Chierici at Fighter Sweep. With orders to intercept the object, Fravor in his jet callsign FASTEAGLE 01 headed toward with aid from an E-2 Hawkeye early warning and control plane.
The Hawkeyes sensors, however, couldnt detect the object and vector him toward it, so Princeton directed FASTEAGLE 01 and Fravors wingman, FASETEAGLE 02 to the location, and even asked Fravor whether he was carrying weapons he wasnt. He just had two training missiles. Below the jets, Fravor saw whitewater sloshing in the blue ocean.
All four aircrew were eyes out from this point forward. The first unusual indication Dave picked up was the area of whitewater on the surface that Cheeks was looking at over his shoulder as he flew away. He remembers thinking it was about the size of a 737 and maybe the contact they had been vectored on had been an airliner that had just crashed. He maneuvered his F-18 lower to get a better look. As he was descending through about 20K he was startled by the sight of a white object that was moving about just over the frothing water. It was all white, featureless, oblong and making minor lateral movements while staying at a consistent low altitude over the disk of turbulent water.
*snip*
Its also worth reading the comments section at Fighter Sweep:
I was on board the USS Princeton (2001-2005) when this all went down. We actually went to GQ (General Quarters) for about 4 hours as all...this was going down.

Interesting that the Commander interviewed is the same guy that was on the PBS special “Carrier” and who retired shortly after the special was made.
“No biggy.”
Didn’t want you to think I was trying. I don’t work that way.

Face it, there is stuff in the air that has been seen for the last 75+ some odd years by the airforce, heck as long as we have had an airforce. There have been strange things in the air stretching back beyond the record of history.
Now the question is, the millitary has had 75+ some odd years to figure it out and have they?
They either have it figured out or they are still clueless.
If they haven’t figured it out it points to a perceived weakness in progressive government.
I wonder if they still can’t figure it out and are afraid to disclose that fact as they might look weak and useless.
If they spread the mythical rumour that some of those birds our are own and they have been reverse engineering them they then appear stronger and their budget stay safer.
It is really interesting, but I think we as the tax payer and sovereigns of this country as citizens should certainly KNOW what they KNOW about this phenomenon. Otherwise we are being used for funds and they are making decisions that could affect us beyond those made in Washington and that is a very bad thing for our form of government to sustain.
We both certainly appreciate and respect that. The amount of horse biscuits taken particularly by Q on his head and in the groin on this topic has been quite incredible to an extreme for decades. He’s gotten more mature & peacefully confident in responding to it and handling it but it has certainly rarely been fun, for him.
The retiring head of Lockheed Skunk works asserted:
"If you can imagine it, we can already do it." "We can take ET home." etc.
Sorry. In spite of our high IQ’s, neither one of us get it. We can both be somewhat obtuse and thickheaded over this or that detail or line of thought at times. Please explain.
Sorry, but that strikes both of us as too much of a grope.
There are abundant reports of oblong craft doing exotic 'impossible' maneuvers at super high speeds etc. etc. etc.
Occham's razor in this case would require accepting those abundant reports over the more illogical blimp explanation. Blimps simply do not do what that craft was seen to do.
And, blimps are shaped differently. The oblong UFO tends to be like a supersized Tictac. A blimp is more like a stretched out sphere or bloated elongated tear drop.
There are many claims that the super speeds involved super high tech propulsion . . . and in many cases, warping time and space.
We pulled over on the side of the road and got the binoculars out. It was not a balloon at all. It was a standard issue, very typical triangle craft--3RB or some such designation in the literature.
It was very high up and quite a long ways South and a bit West of us. It hung motionless in the sky. A balloon at that height would not have been motionless.
But it was clearly the typical 3RB triangle craft with lights on each corner and a larger light in the center on the underside. We watched it for about 20 minutes. The latter part of that, we pulled into a relative's yard and he, wife and neighbors all saw it. Eventually it 'drifted' off higher and further South, out of sight.
Cruise Missiles that target ships cruise at high attitudes then drop down to engage ships near the Ocean’s Surface, that is exactly what was described by the USS Princeton. The Captain was prudent in ordering General Quarters to deal with an Anti-Ship Missile Attack.
Do I need to explain more?
Evidently we have succeeded (and 'they' helped us in many cases) figure out how to build some varieties of the craft with some of the exotic capabilities.
Yet, the government reportedly still feels largely vulnerable to the critters and their tech and mostly unable to protect the planet's citizens from the critters and their tech. The first duty of a government can be said is to protect its citizens. If it is proven they still can't after 75 years, then what good are they--throw them out and let others try. The politicos are not eager for that to happen.
Most of us agree that the public deserves to know.
There are some potentially valid concerns about the chaotic break down of society if certain religious sorts of facts were known . . . and/or if the evil might and ruthlessness of say the reptoids might also jangle society real hard.
However, more of us probably believe our culture could handle the truth at some point and we deserve a chance to try.
will read later
We think we understand your point now but we see the incident differently.
A cruise missile flying high--either in a shallow parabola or a horizontal sort of flight--then dropping down closer to the water before striking a target--still traveling parallel to the earth/water--is one thing.
That was NOT the description of the behavior of the UFO in this case.
The craft was at higher altitude. Then, like a QUICKLY falling yoyo or rock or spear thrust straight down--headed very fast straight down. Then it stopped abruptly just above the water. Then it zipped off at a high rate of speed, IIRC.
Cruise missiles don't come close to behaving that way.
Sorry to disagree but that's our perspective.
My goodness. A long lost friend. Q says high Chode. Were’s your little avatar?
It’s certainly reasonable to call General Quarters—even just because a very strange unknown is so close doing such shocking maneuvers.
The USS Princeton couldn’t see that.
Can you please read the article again.
Separate out what the fighters could see versus what the USS Princeton could detect.
Hindsight is 20/20.
“During an exercise, commanders ordered Fravor to intercept an object that was appearing at 80,000 feet above the range of Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Princetons SPY-1 air-search radar before dropping suddenly to 20,000 feet.”
What do you think Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles do?
And, we weren't there. We can't say for certain what the ship could and could not see. Were there any copters aloft? We don't know.
However, radar SHOULD have been outlining the basic maneuvers pretty accurately.

In the last few years I have had conversations with family and friends that goes something like this:
” I am skeptical of the UFO and aliens thing but I am keeping an open mind but not enough that that my brain falls out ( chuckle ), I am reading up on the apocrypha and whatnot and all the theories both pure scientific and wacky. While I may not believe in aliens until I actually see one and touch one and talk to one, I am am keeping informed. Now if the News ever comes out some day and says that the aliens are real and some UFOs are actually alien spacecraft just know that you can call me anytime of the day or night and I will be happy to put your mind at ease or answer any question you may have. “
I think if a large number of people were to do this and talk to friends and family and become “Disclosure Ambassadors” in the waiting for their friends and family. You don’t have to argue with them that aliens exist, but just let them know YOU ARE THERE FOR THEM SHOULD FULL DISCLOSURE OCCUR. And let them know you can be a source for them to ask questions and not to panic should their world be turned upside down. I think if everyone who in researched in the various UFO theories would do this, disclosure would come a LOT sooner!
Now I am the more skeptical kind of UFO information hound, but I do read up ALL the theories, just in case, do I belive all the theories, NOPE, but I am well informed of them. Just like how I am a Catholic Christian, I do read up on other religions.
Please let me know if you think this is a good idea.
You seem to be saying it paralleled rather closely the behavior of a high flying cruise missile that then drops down to lower level flight to attack a ship.
We are saying the UFO did not parallel that behavior. It dropped rapidly straight down vertically. It stopped abruptly above the water. Then it did other things.
Even on radar, the difference between the UFO and typical cruise missile behavior should have been quite evident.
Certainly adding the view narratives of the pilots could have well made things abundantly clearer on such scores.
BTW, Q hopes you read EXO-VATICANA. Seriously.
We are a bit concerned that given Q's stance being essentially like that for 55 years, we could have 100's of folks calling us at once and desperately trying to find us to show up on our door step. We could do without that!
