Authorities have arrested a 26-year-old man connected to the Islamic State (ISIS) who was allegedly plotting a terrorist attack in San Francisco over the Christmas holiday.
The FBI reports that they arrested Everitt Aaron Jameson, a truck driver from Modesto, California. He referred to himself as Abdallah adu Everitt ibn Gordon. He is charged specifically with attempting to supply support to a foreign terrorist organization and he has posted pro-ISIS and pro-terrorist posts on Facebook.
His intended target was San Franciscos famous Pier 39. Jameson was apparently unknowingly chatting with an undercover FBI agent and was arrested earlier this week. A search of his home found several firearms as well as fireworks.
The San Francisco police released a statement Friday afternoon:
"The San Francisco Police Department was notified by the FBI about this investigation several days ago and we remain in contact with our local, state and federal partners as this case proceeds. The safety of all San Francisco residents and visitors is our top priority. As we have stated in previous weeks, during the holiday season the public will notice an increased law enforcement presence in shopping corridors and at our City's attractions. As always, "if you see something, say something." We encourage the community to contact officers or 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity."
The 26-year-old would-be terrorist told the FBI that he was ready and willing to die and that Christmas was a perfect day to commit his attack. He also said he chose Pier 39 because he "had been there before and knew it was a heavily crowded area." He added that he could "funnel" a large amount of people into a tiny space for mass casualties.
He told the FBI informant that he was inspired by an ISIS-style terrorist attack on October 31 in NYC that killed 8 people as well as the 2015 Islamic-extremist shooting in San Bernardino.
This story will be updated as more details come in.
They found a couple guns with 13 rounds of ammo. Whoop-de-doo, my elderly mom-in-law (now 93) had more rounds than that. This guy was a wannabe killer for ISIS, not a whole lot of mass casualties would happen with 13 rounds. But still, glad he was caught before doing something which comes natural to ISIS followers.
“He referred to himself as Abdallah adu Everitt ibn Gordon”
Aimless bored white people; if he was female he’d be servicing ISIS fighters in Syria or Jersey City...
“Ex-Marine”?
Yeah, what’s that about? I guess he wasn’t in combat if he thinks WE deserve to die for what WE’VE done...
I found it strange that Town Hall totally missed this.
The FBI should create more believable dupes .... I doubt this fool could get across the street by himself without an FBI handler to get his psychotropic medicine.
Finding some disgruntled loser, feeding his ego, selling him a fake bomb, goading him into using it, and then arresting him is not "thwarting a terror attack." You guys didn't save any lives.
Go arrest the Las Vegas shooter before he murders a bunch of people. Then I'll be impressed.
I call BS. San Franciscans are on THEIR side...
Maybe the FBI should have pretended not to see. After all California is so sure that Islam is there friend. Let there sanctuary cities suffer due consequences.
Just watched a report that said he was put out because he lied about a health problem. Asthma.
So I doubt he ever made it to the point where was actually a Marine.
Willing to die???
Let Me help your RAGHEAD ASS.
Give Me one minute or less with IT in person.
See, see! Trump shouldn’t have moved Embassy to Jerusalem!
Still mostly Hussien's FBI, so.......good luck with that.
What a disgusting pube for beard freak. Taliban would castrate this idiot and make it their harem boy... no beard, no fighter for allah.
That was my first thought too. He would be passed around like a pack of smokes.
The very restaurant we would take visitors too when I lived in Los Altos as a kid in the early 60s. Yep, the times have changed since the Muslims moved in. A couple of years ago I made a single disparaging, but truthful comment, about Muslims being an organized crime gang in the San Jose Mercury and was immediately banned.
Even though Cultural Christianity is not real Christianity, it is the milk that a non-believer can drink. By removing it from our culture, a seeker only sees Christianity as a club or as bunch of weak do-gooders who venture out to serve a meal and then retreating back inside their walls.
So, when they seek purpose in their life they are attracted to the religion that seems to believe in itself. I talked to one of these dumb, white converts to the Arabic Moon God a few years ago. He was a recent convert so he was in what Calvinists call “the cage stage” when describing a newly Reformed Christian.
The things he was most excited about?
1) The fact that Allah knows that he is a hopeless sinner. (He knew that Christ does too, but could not accept that God would accept him without works.)
2) The rules. He wanted order more than anything. He wanted to be told that something is not OK, or that he must do something for his god.
3) But at the same time, he wanted to rejoice in being able to remain Natural Man (the sinful man) while working his way to heaven. The thought of receiving a regenerated heart that would make him hate sin more and more was ridiculous to him.
4) This one is pure teaching, but he already believed that it is blasphemy to believe that God would have a Son and would come to live as a human. They seem to teach that early to keep their converts from running to Christianity.
These idiots who convert to barbaric false religion after growing up in a nominally Christian nation should be showing us that our anything-goes, numbers-led Christianity that is practiced in seeker-sensitive churches is not working. At least, churches with better coffee than theology don’t work for Christ. They does work for Satan.
I suggest the reporter mis heard
the correct name is likely Abdallah abu Everitt ibn Gordon
