He sees your other kittehs getting loved on and sure, he wants it too. That’s actually a big help in taming him. He sees they trust you.

What you have to do is put his food out and sit a few feet away while he eats, talking gently to him. Over time, the dish is a little closer and a little closer to you until it’s at your feet. Once he’s comfortable eating when it’s that close, THEN you begin touching him. Start with little skritches on his back at the base of his tail. That’s a magic spot. He’ll run off and you’ll probably have to move the dish out a little again, then move it back to your feet and repeat. He’ll realize just HOW GOOD it feels to get those skritches and stop running off. BAM! You’ve won! LOL! It’ll take a little longer to get him to allow you to hold him but not all that long.

It’s simply a matter of patience but it does work. With luck it won’t take two years. I’ve tamed others much quicker.

I will take your advice. I’d love to love on him. He’s such an ol’ sweetie! Now I need to get a decent chair to. sit in. LOL! All of mine, but my antique metal one that’s full of rust and iffy whether it’d fold up under me LOL, need to be thrown away. Maybe I should have asked for a patio set for Christmas! :)
