"SCHERTZ, Texas - Wiederstein Elementary School in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District is mourning a first-grader who was killed in a deputy-involved shooting. Kameron Prescott was killed Thursday by what appeared to be a stray bullet at his family's home, at the Pecan Grove Mobile Home Park on FM 78.
According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, four deputies fired shots outside the home when a woman who they believed was armed with a gun appeared to be reaching for the weapon. "
Later reports in other local media indicate that no weapon was found on the dead suspect.
That quote isnt a legal argument.
Actually, it is. More than one civilian sits in prison for dipshittery like this. You are morally, ethically, and legally responsible for every single bullet that leaves your gun.
Period. End of discussion.

Conservatives don’t spout off stupid opinions based upon their feelings with no regards to reality.
This isn’t Car 54. Sheriff Andy isn’t here. When you’ve someone who minutes earlier threatened to kill a cop with a gun turns towards you and makes a noncompliant action which could result in your death in under two seconds, you don’t have time to query everything behind you, adjust your sights, and shoot the perp in the brainstem.
Soldiers don’t shoot people who make threats? Really? What do they do then? Write them up citations?
No, that’s not the end of the discussion. You’ve failed to make a point.
I just watched a video from a few weeks back where a guy getting robbed pulls out his CCW and shoots the robber. In the process his cousin goes to flee and runs in the line of fire and he injures his cousin while exchanging gunfire. Wanna guess how much time he’s facing for the shooting? None. Because that’s how the law works.
The civilians sitting in jail are the ones who can’t justify firing their weapon.
Period. End of discussion.
.........It’s practice in Texas, if not the law, for the Texas Rangers to investigate cop shootings. They will investigate this one and make a determination of whether or not this was in fact a “split second” decision.
If it was not, this officer is going to jail. I seem to remember the cop that shot that young man running away from him recently got 20 years.
This shooting doesn’t look to good. Schertz-Cibolo is about 40 miles south of me so I will be watching this one closely. It’s premature for anyone to be drawing conclusions tonight.
Had to be there to know the real story and what the cops were facing/seeing.....
There are Soldiers whose ROE says they have to be shot at before they shoot back. Cops can shoot any time they please if they “feel” or “believe” they’re in danger. It’s bull shit! Way too many people are getting killed by cops because way too many cops can’t wait to empty their magazine on someone or a puppy.
Soldiers shoot the enemy. And if a child in the background is killed that soldier will face a court martial and probably end up in Leavenworth. This cop will probably get a citation.
No point even talking to you, that's the keyword phrase learned by jack booted thugs. The other human being involved is a citizen too, and whether or not they happen to be complying with what some other citizen is saying at the moment is not cause for killing them. Unless of course you are a fascist thug, and since you're using that keyword you probably have lost your perspective and your thoughts have moved in that direction. Get help, change your perspective, that's not the way to think.
Youve failed to make a point.
I did. You missed it completely.
L
you dont get to query everything within a hundred yards to the rear of your target.
Then you dont pull the damned trigger. Its as simple as that. Cops get paid to take bullets if necessary. If that is too much for them they can go sell insurance.
L
By your logic, they should have just called in a napalm strike and taken out the grid square. Just to be sure.
“Hey you with the gun, drop it!”
“No!”
“Oh crap, hold on, I need to call up the internet and ask what to do next. There’s someone on a message oars that knows nothing about the law and it’s enforcement who has a strong opinion on this matter.”
Actually, they’re not paid to take bullets. They’re paid to enforce the law.
That’s as stupid as saying soldiers are paid to take roadside bombs.
The only point I’ve received from you is your belief in knowledge of firearms and their proper use is far higher than your actual knowledge.
Actually, theyre not paid to take bullets. Theyre paid to enforce the law.
That would include the law that forbids firing weapons into occupied dwellings. Right?
L
You are either crazy, or a real thug. Neither one is good. Learn the law. Learn to think. And don't assume people you are chatting with don't know as much as you think you do.
Lethal self defense is based on five principles.
Innocence, imminence, reasonable essentially, jeopardy, avoidance.
You want to detail those as they apply to this situation or will you back off and admit I’m more informed on how the law works as it relates to lethal force?
If it’s illegal to fire a gun into an occupied dwelling, why do folks in occupied dwelling keep guns for defense?
Hint: It’s not illegal to do so.
Learn the law and stop acting like a liberal.
“Reasonability” rather than “reasonable essentially”
