No. Leftists are incapable of “getting the message” (think: NFL). If the sales of these stupid comic books dropped to zero, they’d simply blame themselves for not educating their readers well enough on how not to be homophobic, sexist, racist, Nazi monsters.

What they’re pushing is a matter of RECRUITING. They either cannot procreate so must grow their specialized population by recruitment (by definition incapable of procreating), or have a religious mandate to convert others (if not by comic, then by sword).
They know the message will be largely rejected, but so long as enough accept the message their population will grow, if not merely sustain.
I don't think comic sales mean squat to Marvel. It's all about the movies now, the comics are just there because it's expected. But like all SJWs they are embarrassed that all of their primo movie characters are white guys. So they promote a few from the B-list (Black Panther, Falcon, Black Widow) but they really want one of their marquee characters to be "diverse". I can hear them now: "Finally, something useful for the comics division! We can test out new diverse versions of our famous characters! If they work out we'll move them to the big screen and if they don't, well, who cares?"
