My company just gutted our insurance coverage, hinted it was because of the "cadillac coverage" rules but that was a lie (which is why they only hinted at it). They really just want us off their books and onto Obamacare so they offered us basically Obamacare coverage for more money. In the next year if nothing changes many from my company may just move to the exchange and take the savings since the coverage is basically identical. Something like this may be at play in other places too.

Or it could just be the worthless beancounters that run my company who have done everything they can to get rid of incentives to stay there long term. Killed the pension and leveled all the positions so nobody can ever get promoted or advance, eliminated the low cost life insurance, and now made their health care the same as the crap government coverage. I can't wait for the Trump economy to really get going so I can give them the finger and move on.

Don’t blame your company. Obamacare has made health insurance unaffordable. It’s happening to everyone.

Obamacare set a new standard for “good insurance” which is bottom of the barrel terrible insurance with massive deductibles and coinsurance.

Your company didn’t have much choice. The law is pretty strict on what they can/cannot do.
