On the orders of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Justice Department prosecutors have begun asking FBI agents to explain the evidence they found in a now dormant criminal investigation into a controversial uranium deal that critics have linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton, multiple law enforcement officials told NBC News.
The interviews with FBI agents are part of the Justice Department's effort to fulfill a promise an assistant attorney general made to Congress last month to examine whether a special counsel was warranted to look into what has become known as the Uranium One deal, a senior Justice Department official said.

A senior law enforcement official who was briefed on the initial FBI investigation told NBC News there were allegations of corruption surrounding the process under which the U.S. government approved the sale. But no charges were filed.

The guy running the IG report is an Obama apointee swamp dweller. Don’t hold your breath on that one.
Supposedly he went after Obama very hard but was obstructed by the DOJ on many occasions. This is hearsay as I’ve not checked him out personally, but the general opinion of others is that he is not only on the level, but has a history of going after Obama.
Why do so many FReepers have so much faith in the impending IG's report? The guy, Michael E. Horowitz, is an Obama appointee and has been in that position since 2012. He has to have been a "good" Democrat to be appointed to that position and under Holder no less.
What has he accomplished in the past 5 years as IG?
I tried looking him up and Wikipedia has all of four - count 'em - four sentences!

Trump's allies in Congress might be driving the Obama appointed IG inspector. Some would argue that the same IG whitewashed the Fast & Furious investigation.
TBD if he wears a white hat. I have my doubts.
Michael Horowitz was the DOJ IG who was responsible for the Fast and Furious report.

IBD is pretty good with its editorials. They weren't alone on this. Others also called it a "whitewash". So that's Michael Horowitz's track record.
Announcing a special counsel or prosecutor — Mueller would be forced to step down.
This is a good line of thought for Jeff Sessions, let’s just hope his conscious is such that he can pull the trigger on this.
Would be nice to see the FBI join in - AND NOT ON THE SIDE OF THE CROOKS....for once.
Time for the FBI to go back to protecting American citizens and NOT protecting the “criminal rights” of liberal elites in DC.
I've not noticed one peep out of any lib ****head equating the behavior of the corrupticrats from the Soetero years with the bigger-than-POTUS J. Edgar Hoover entity that the FBI was. Probably has something to do with the fact that Hoover went after the mob (think of all those mob movies in the "golden age" of Hollywood) and after the commies.
