I saw a lot of comments about arms and Benghazi, but it was my understanding that these were just arms that overflowed in the region and were being moved around the area. I did not see any mention of ISIS.
I’m not being argumentative. I’m just seeking to have a source so I can back this up if I claim this to others.

The groups we were supplying were not yet formally ISIS. They affiliated with ISIS a little later but we knew it was headed that way. AQ affiliates were beneficiaries of our armaments magnanimity, too, and some of those groups turned out a bit later to be ISIS.
