Actor Matt Damon apparently skipped the premiere for his latest sci-fi movie Downsizing on Monday, days after receiving intense backlash following his comments about sexual harassment in Hollywood.
Damon, 47, did not attend the Monday night premiere at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, days after being widely mocked for arguing that men who didn’t engage in sexually predatory behavior were not receiving enough attention.
“We’re in this watershed moment, and it’s great, but I think one thing that’s not being talked about is there are a whole s**tload of guys – the preponderance of men I’ve worked with – who don’t do this kind of thing and whose lives aren’t going to be affected,” Damon said in an interview with Business Insider. “I don’t do that, and most of the people I know don’t do that.”
However, a representative for Paramount Pictures told The Hollywood Reporter that the Oscar-winning actor was “dealing with an ongoing family matter,” with sources claiming his father was ill.

He’s right.
Just a reminder, Damon along with Afleck leaned on a reporter in 2003 to get her to spike a story on Weinstein’s predatory behavior - he is posing that he is not predator and should be lauded, when in fact he is one of the enforcers for the predators.
He is Weinstein darling and helped cover it up.

The vast majority of priests never touched a minor of either sex, but did that do them any good?
If he, as an individual, is complicit, then he certainly doesn’t deserve to be treated as one of the good guys.
The bigger point, however, is that the #MeToo movement is being used to push All Men Are Bad ideology, which hurts good men and their families.
Yeah. I withhold judgment on this. He’s one of the ones I would suspect the most, although his erstwhile colleague Ben Affleck suspicions me more.

everyone seems to be missing the obvious point here; why is making a completely sensible and true comment opening someone up to criticism...? that he’s a hypocrite is not the issue...

Affleck is guilty of playing Batman poorly.

And yet every damn case every week of a female teacher giving liquor and drugs to her students and having sex with them is an isolated incident.
Plenty of female predators.
Matt Damon! gets lost more often than Glenn on TWD.
Men don’t consider the teachers to be predators.
