House Republicans quietly investigate perceived corruption at DOJ, FBI
Politico ^ | 12/20/2017 06:34 PM EST | KYLE CHENEY and JOHN BRESNAHAN

A group of House Republicans has gathered secretly for weeks in the Capitol in an effort to build a case that senior leaders of the Justice Department and FBI improperly — and perhaps criminally — mishandled the contents of a dossier that describes alleged ties between President Donald Trump and Russia, according to four people familiar with their plans.

A subset of the Republican members of the House intelligence committee, led by Chairman Devin Nunes of California, has been quietly working parallel to the committee's high-profile inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. They haven't informed Democrats about their plans, but they have consulted with the House's general counsel.

That final product could ultimately be used by Republicans to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether any Trump aides colluded with Russia during the 2016 campaign — or possibly even to justify his dismissal, as some rank-and-file Republicans and Trump allies have demanded.

Nunes' office declined to comment about the effort, but he has aired his suspicions about the law enforcement agencies before. "I hate to use the word corrupt, but they’ve become at least so dirty that who’s watching the watchmen? Who’s investigating these people?" he said in a Fox News interview earlier this month. "There is no one."

Forget the IG report from the crooked DOJ. This is the group working to expose the actual crimes of the election, and defend Trump from the witch hunt.

“Perceived”? What level of moron do you have to be to make that statement? Oh wait... it’s Politico, filled with libtards and Marxists. I guess the title is intended to demonstrate Politico’s “perceived” objectivity.

Perceived corruption?

How about the mass murder of Fast and Furious, Waco and Ruby Ridge? No prosecutions. No convictions. No carrying out of sentences.

When Republican-elitists start looking for ways to get rid of Mueller it might be a sign that he is getting too close. As long as it was just about getting rid of Trump they were all right with it . . . but if he gets too close to the swamp kingdom people will get nervous.

And I still have a sense that Mueller has been working for Trump and Sessions all along.

Please save the ridicule - you all aren’t going to change my thinking. I just believe that Donald Trump is a little smarter than folks are giving him credit.

“Mishandled the contents”?..

WTF? The whole thing was conceived and paid for by Dems to steal the election or get Trump impeached if he won. If they are investigating “mishandling of contents” it is obvious that they don’t have a clue or they are part of the Deep State and are playing kabuki. This should be Watergate Times one million.

“Perceived”, that is awesome!!! But,you know what??? Politico is telling libs to get ready, and that is surprising. That is your story here. CNN, NBC et al. are not. They are leaving their viewers in the position of being slapped up side the head when indictments come down the path, in hopes of rioting in the streets. Politico wants to survive the storm and maybe be come out on top as real news for liberals when it is over. That is something to watch.

I believe they are the ones who issued a subpoena on the IG to release records. First with balls. Problem is they collect everything and then need Sessions. Would love for them to include Sessions in with the suspects.

While the assault against POTUS was primarily intended to protect criminal enterprises in the former administration (offense as defense), they also assumed that the newly elected team would be like them in terms of corrupt acts, and therefore assumed that the Meuller onslaught would turn up fresh meat... Liars generally do assume that others are lying, too... This is a fundamental property of today’s “progressive.”

These are the actual foot soldiers fighting for Trump and our great country. Choosing to support Mueller over them is a colossal mistake, deserving of ridicule.

One thing I like.....they have blocked Trey Gowdy out of this investigation. Tells you what they think of him.

Why is it no one writes an unloaded headline anymore. There is always an unnecessary adjective or adverb that gives away the writer's true thoughts.

An honest DOJ? Look at the Bundy trial. DOJ's actions were so over the top that they even offended the rather cramped sensibilities of the judge who heard the case for its how manyth time?

Otherwise, he is useless.
