Secretary of State launches investigation into voter fraud concerns in Senate special election
WSFA 12 ^

ALABAMA (WALA) - Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill is investigating a concern over potential voter fraud in last Tuesday's special Senate election. It all stems from a brief interview FOX10 News Reporter Kati Weis conducted at the Doug Jones victory party on election night when a young man made a comment that has now gone viral on social media.

The interview took place just minutes after the race had been called. While live on air, in the middle of the crowded party, Kati walked up to a number of jubilant supporters at random, asking them for their reactions to the big win. But, it was this question and answer that has caused controversy:

"Kati: Why are you excited to see this victory? Man: Because, we came here all the way from different parts of the country as part of our fellowship, and all of us pitched in to vote and canvas together, and we got our boy elected!" Merrill said he is trying to find out who the man is, and if he really meant what he said, or if he only misspoke.

"Well, it's very disconcerting when someone who's not from Alabama says that they participated in our election, so now it's incumbent upon us to try to identify this young man, to see what kind of role he played, if it was to simply play a canvassing roll, or if he was part of a process that went out and tried to register voters, or if he himself actually became a registered voter," said Merrill.

Merrill said, so far, there is no concrete evidence that any voter fraud has taken place.

"We don't have any evidence of people doing that, our numbers do not indicate that has happened, but when you have someone actually recorded on television saying that they voted, and that's what he said, then we've got to get to the bottom of that," said Merrill.

The Secretary of State's Office also said voter fraud would be unlikely because every voter is required to show a government photo identification card before casting a vote.

"We have one of the most stringent voting laws in the nation," said Merrill. FOX10 News has also been trying to find out who the man in question is, even reaching out to the Doug Jones campaign for a list of volunteers, but the Jones campaign said it does not have access to the countless groups who volunteered to help canvas and campaign.

Merrill said the Jones campaign has been cooperative with his investigation. It's also important to note, because the race received so much national attention, there were many campaign volunteers who came from all over the country to help get the vote out for Jones.

In fact, some celebrities, who do not live in Alabama, also came to Birmingham last week to speak in support of Jones, including famous basketball player Charles Barkley.

Meanwhile, Merrill said the results of the election will be completely certified sometime in the week after Christmas.

We don’t have any evidence of people doing that...

Were there any RATs participating in the election?

The Secretary of State’s Office also said voter fraud would be unlikely because every voter is required to show a government photo identification card before casting a vote.

Except in the urban RAT-controlled districts, where a “nod and a wink” will suffice.
...
I don’t believe we had poll watchers there, because we would have heard stories of buses and the volunteers waiting to release the counts...am I missing something?

Can anyone verify if we had watchers in these districts or not?

Hey Everybody!!

It’s time for the ”[And] [So] [Now] It Begins” drinking game! Every time someone posts the neverending, pearl-clutching, hand-wringing, fainting couch
...
Yes , just turnout, no fraud. Sorry pal, your mantra is old.

You count the paper ballots

Doesn't 'digital ballot' mean that there is no paper trail?

-—>Remember she hired the Awans......DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz electronically switched donations to Bernie to Hillary’s campaign account.

This likely explains the voting irregularities for DWS’s last ‘win’ for her congressional seat. While she likely was favored to win, there was a mysterious 7% added to her margins and another exactly 7% detracted from her opponent in particular precincts late on election day. This is unexplainable but for electronic fraud.

No, we use paper ballots. They are inserted into machines that scan the ballot. If they are programmed to, they can also capture a digital image of the paper ballot. By state law, the paper ballots must be retained for 22 months.

Thanks for the D/W/S/backstory.......of course it was voter fraud.

The Awans seem to have played several roles as House Democrats’ IT aides.

Also explains the Democrats’ “Oath of Omerta” when asked about the Awans.

Alabama Voter ID laws make it damn near impossible to engage in large scale voter Fraud...

Individual instances? certainly possible, large scale, highly unlikely.

Moore and Bannon didn’t GOTV... nothing really more to it than that. I am beyond skeptical they are going to find any evidence of fraud at the level that would have affected the election outcome.

Canvass every vote in select demographics for Jones.

How can you describe canvassing only select demographics as rightful?

I don’t think this will amount to anything. Any Republican who can’t win in Alabama is a terrible candidate.

That is one way to double check if anyone wanted to spend the money. Rescan
the ballots and see what that total comes to.

Our putrid ABC affiliate has been reporting on the Alabama special election with a skewed point of view. Last night they had tearful relatives of girls killed by a church bombing in the 60s on tee vee speaking about the election as if it were God’s hands at work instead of the southern coalition of demented democrats doing a vote packing. WTOK in Meridian, a station that no longer pretends to be objective.

Yes. Here is a chance for conservatives to put their money where their keyboards are. If they aren’t willing to put up $1 million to both reclaim a Senate seat and prove rampant voter fraud, then they might as well quit complaining about voter fraud.

I had this same discussion with some Alabama relative. I explained the them that I would vote for a single rabid yellow dog that I could keep in a cage for three years and then put down as opposed to taking a step in giving power back to a large pack of rabid yellow dogs who would roam free and savage everything I hold dear.

Didn’t get it. The response was “I’m not voting for a bad man”.

This was going on ling before Obama, although he was hip deep in it.

I can remember back in the 1960 presidential election wen after a meeting with Sam Giancana with both John and Robert Kennedy, and it was noted by many news sources later, that a deal was made with Giancana that if he’d get them votes in Illinois, they’d back off on investigating him. That was the year 50K dead people voted for Kennedy in the Chicago area.

That same year, the presidential election in Hawaii was held on November 8, as part of the United States presidential election. This was the first presidential election in which Hawaii participated; the state had been admitted to the Union just over a year earlier. The islands favored Democrat John F. Kennedy by the narrowest of margins: 115 votes, or 0.06% in polls. But initially it appeared Republican candidate Richard Nixon had won in the state, as he was 141 votes ahead after the first count. A court-ordered recount was still underway when Hawaii’s Republican governor signed the certificate from the GOP electors giving the state’s three electoral votes to Nixon. On the same day, the Democratic electors also issued a certificate awarding the votes to Kennedy. The final recount showed Kennedy had actually prevailed. Question is, where did 256 votes come from. Nixon accepted it and ordered congress to certify the second count. A little class there considering he took every island but Oahu.

There have been other instances of questionable voting tactics well into history. Wish they’d stop. But being required to show a national ID card has been dropped and using finger prints like they do in the military is also off the plate.

Also, Roy Moore has sent out a request for $75,000 for his election integrity fund. Be sure to send him a check.

Why the snarky crap?

I didn't give Roy Moore a dime, have no intentions of ever giving him a dime.

But I will not tolerate voter suppression and the erosion of voter integrity.

And I am doing something about it.

What have you done...other than making snarky comments?

I don't know what the hell is wrong with some of you people nowadays.

It seems as though the purpose of political discourse has evolved into who can be the biggest wise ass.

You don't like Roy Moore...fine...I don't care...but you should care about honest reporting of voter irregularities being reported to officials that pretty much just said to forget it...ignore it, let it go.

And before you come back with a wise ass response...remember that you do not know me, you do not know who I am, nor what I am involved with as far as the election process in the State of Alabama.

I have seen first hand reports and talked person to person with poll workers that know first hand what happened.

Roy Moore can go play with his horses...I care less as to what he does...but I'm doing everything I can to stop the damned democrat destruction of voter integrity in this State.

What are you doing?

Have those reports been shared with the Secretary of State?

So, is Dem fraud suspected by the Alabama Republican Committee and if so, how would the Dems likely have obtained illegal votes?
