Mueller goes over the cliff
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/12/mueller_goes_over_the_cliff.html ^ | December 18, 2017 | J.R. Dunn

With the news that his people illegally obtained the Trump transition emails – many of them having no conceivable bearing on his “inquiry” -- Robert Mueller’s investigation proceeds even further into disintegration.

This is not how it was supposed to turn out. Hillary, the DNC, and the #NeverTrumpers no doubt hoped that the special counsel would result in the ouster of Donald Trump, or at least the crippling of his administration. For his part, Mueller very likely foresaw a few easy convictions followed by the customary best-selling book, lucrative lecture tour, and a secure place in the pantheon of left-wing heroes somewhere between Woodward, Bernstein, and Valerie Plame.

Instead, Mueller’s effort lurches unstoppably toward the abyss.

The Mueller team’s lunge into criminality reveals how desperate they’ve become. (and despite what you have heard from Our Loyal Media, seizing those emails was in fact a crime – presidential transition materials remain private by federal statute.) Soon enough, they’ll be accused of more crimes than anybody they’re investigating

Even if Mueller were somehow to stumble across actual wrongdoing, the voting public would never, at this point, believe it. Thanks to arrogance and his willingness to hire every Clinton zombie in the federal bureaucracy, Mueller is looking at a wrecked reputation, if not the opportunity to model an orange jumpsuit. (This, unlikely though it may seem, is in no way an impossibility, since Mueller clearly has no control over his staff and no idea what tricks they’ve been pulling, or what they might pull tomorrow.)

Looking into how an incompetent like Mueller ever got anywhere in government would tell us a lot about the state we’re now in.

At times, that scenario presented itself to me.

But I wonder if behind the scenes the D/S is buying Mueller off.

They’ve got scads of money (our tax dollars) that might tempt him to go easy on them.

These people are desperate-—they will do anything to survive.

For years James Comey and Robert Mueller, as FBI directors...

...knew Andrew McCabe maintained problematic contacts with Russian officials including organized crime figures

... yet did little to investigate the now-FBI deputy director’s relationships even after other agents caught McCabe tampering in Russian-linked cases, FBI sources said.

Mueller is like an incompetent arsonist who has managed to splash gasoline all over himself and is now furiously trying to ignite a cigarette lighter. It’s best to just step back and give him room.

Let this be an object lesson to future special prosecutors on what happens when an investigation goes on past its useful life.

Once it was clear that there was no Russian collusion, the investigation should have been shut down. However, the investigation dragged on, inventing new areas of focus. This is what eventually leads to rot, which will undermine the foundations of the investigation.

It's not too late to shut it down and protect whatever reputations are left to salvage.

Given Cornyn’s comments yesterday I think the GOPe is starting to dawn on them that an out of control SC could happen to them, too. This will be SOP for whenever a Democrat hands over control of the executive branch to the GOP.

This is a political assassinatioon using/misusing federal criminal law. There is only one way to handle this.

Call entire Mueller team, all gang of 8 intelligence committee members and all the senior FBI and DOJ personnel involved in Email-gate and the dossier and the Russian collusion investigation to meeting at the White House.

Trump orders Mueller to brief EVERYONE on his findings on Russia Collusion with the Trump Campaign to throw the election. Not request, ORDER him to tell everyone present.

When he says “We found nothing.” Which he will have to say, then Trumps stops the briefing, turns to his SS detail and says “Do it.”

He then fires Mueller and his entire staff on the spot. He informs them to not return to their offices, that everything has been seized by the Secret Service. He also orders them to surrender all government issued electronic devices and place them on the table.

He then turns to the FBI / DOJ people and says the exact same thing. They are all fired on the spot.

He then turns too the Gang of 8 and says “The charade is over. I will be instructing the new DOJ personnel to restart the Clinton Email scandal investigatioon and include that with the treason and sedition charges that will be investigated for trying too overthrow a lawful presidential election.”

How is that we keep hearing of all these things being done illegally my Mueller’s goons but nobody is ever arrested?

Don't you worry. I'm sure Attorney General Jeff Sessions is all over it.

Why are you laughing?

he provocation to fire Mueller could very well come with the usual suspects threatening to take to the streets if it happens (Att. Holder etc.).... Being fired puts Mueller on the martyr pedestal and gives Democrats credible claims of obstruction..... which then leads to the political acceptance of removing a president.
Trump is letting it play out and what it’s doing is indeed exposing the Swamp..... I say let it role as is happening.....

Yeah, the left never seems to be out front on these things. Remember how badly they wanted Comey fired, and when he was, they had a fit.

In time, Mueller will have no friends in either party, and the left will claim they never supported him. They will point out that he has GOP roots and should never have been trusted.

I think this is why Trump doesn’t fire him.

I agree firing him would be a BIG problem and he is doing a wonderful job destroying his own credibility.

None of the unlawfully discoursed GSA material can be used in court proceeding.

Even worse for Muller is that it will now be up to the special counsels office to prove that any investigative findings they develop were the not the result (in hole or in part) from leads originating from the unlawful disclosures.

That will be a impossible task.

This investigation just went POOF.

If I were Muller I would quietly wrap this up as fast as I can and salvage what is left of my reputation.

Mueller also has an indictment against Paul Manafort and his partner but conviction is highly unlikely in my opinion.

Manafort’s conduct was way before Trump’s campaign even started.

And Flynn’s conduct was after the election was over.

Mueller was supposed to be investigating claimed irregularities in the Trump campaign and alleged collusion with Russia. He’s found nothing of the sort because nothing exists.

But he has inadvertently shed light on massive corruption by the Clintons, the DNC and the Obama Justice department. They all need a date with the firing squad.

Oh sure, he stuffs the investigation with Clinton/Obama loyalists and even illegally obtains privileged transition emails from the Trump team... all so he can go after the “deep state”.

It all makes so much sense now...
