Senator-elect Doug Jones is already breaking with some prominent Democrats by refusing to call for President Trump to step down over ongoing sexual harassment allegations. I dont think that the president ought to resign at this point, Jones (D-Ala.) told CNNs State of the Union. In his first round of Sunday show interviews since securing a stunning victory in red state Alabama over accused sexual predator Roy Moore, Jones said he doesnt want to get bogged down in Trumps sexual harassment allegations and would rather work on real issues. I think we need to move on and not get distracted by those issues, Jones added. Lets get on with the real issues that are facing the people of this country right now. Thats at odds with some high-profile Democrats like Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) and Cory Booker (NJ) who believe the president should step down because at least 19 women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct. Unlike other politicians who have stepped down, like Sen. Al Franken and Rep. John Conyers, Jones said the difference is the voters knew about these allegations and still elected Trump to the highest office. Those allegations were made and he was elected president of the United States, Jones said. I think the American people spoke.
Jones said hes willing to work with Republicans on passing some of Trumps priorities like infrastructure investment said the sexual harassment allegations are not reason to get on Trumps bad side.

Cory Booker admitted to assaulting a woman a long time ago..he is one to talk about ANYONE resigning..let’s see him resign first
Give him time. He’ll drink the Kool-Aid if he wants money from the Dems for his future campaign.
Talk is cheap.
Chuckie is his boss, when Chuckie says, “Jump!’, Jones will say, “How High?”
It’s a TARP!
Since when are Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker “top Democrats”?
It would be nice if on some things Jones would become our Susan Collins, in reverse.
I admit, fat chance.
I know his policies folks. Please dont remind me of the obvious.
This is BS and heavy duty spin, coordinated.
This sets up his bona fides for later when “new and shocking” revelations come out (i.e. are trumped up).
For the Commie media..ALL Democrats are “Top”
A bunch of cr8p. He said right now not the time. Anyone thinks he will vote against the puppet masters you are wrong.
Soon to become the most conservative democrat in the Senate.
This is the pressing question they lead off with, and of course Jones isn't going to take the bait because he'll be run out on a rail in 2020.
In fact, Jones isn't going to be the radical leftist that he is, while in the Senate. He's going to go the Machin route, and he'll probably represent Alabama's interests very well and bring home federal dollars.
So all this talk about Jones joining the Resistance and being Schumer's female dog is premature.
strange little man...
Jones has a very tough tight rope to walk. Even if he navigates it he probably only has about 20% reelection shot. What do I know. I thought Moore would win by 6-8 percent.
Trial balloon, maybe.
Very, very small step back from the enormous “sexual misconduct” can of worms the DIMS have opened on themselves.
Oh, Jones makes up his own batches of Kool aid at home but is sly enough to understand just when and where hell reveal his true wolfs clothing, covered up by his sheep skin!
Maybe he will jump the shark and flip to the GOP like Richard Shelby did.
A girl can dream...
Maybe he will jump the shark and flip to the GOP like Richard Shelby did.
A girl can dream...
Sit him down with Trump and have a CTJ meeting without Yertle knowing about it. Give Jones one chance to change parties and embrace the MAGA agenda and keep his nice cushy track to becoming wealthy and famous in the US Senate....or prepare to meet the full fury and power of the Trump Train coming straight down the tracks at him on a collision course.
If nothing else it would cost him a lot of nights sleep!
Money quote “at this time...”.
