Special counsel Robert Mueller's office has reportedly requested information from Cambridge Analytica, the data firm utilized by the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Mueller's team has requested all emails from employees at the firm who worked with the campaign.
The request, which wasn't previously known, was voluntary, as was another request the firm complied with from the House Intelligence Committee, the newspaper reported.
Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix also interviewed with the House Intelligence Committee over video call this week, according to the report.
Nix was reported earlier this year to have been in contact with top Trump donor Rebekah Mercer about better organizing emails being released by WikiLeaks.
WikiLeaks chief Julian Assange tweeted that he could confirm that he was contacted by Nix prior to November 2016, and that Nix's request was declined.

I’m seeing a pattern here where when anything negative is revealed about the corrupt Mueller investigation, soon thereafter a convenient leak is provided to the MSM as a distraction. In some cases, the leak, such as the request for Trump’s bank records, turns out to be a flat out lie. The leaks, obviously, are coming from the Clinton operatives / coverup artists on the Mueller investigation; I mean those that haven’t yet managed to expose themselves so blatantly like the two FBI love birds.
If Nix requested information on the emails, which may actually be likely, it was at that time Wikileaks was taunting the public about releasing them...which if one recalls never happened.
I do recall though, Trump, using the latest releases at that time during his campaign rallies. Unless those emails show he had them before Wikileaks ‘released’ them into general circulation, there really is a nothing burger. Using the information post release was all public knowledge.
We were all salivating at the thought of Hillary’s 33,000 emails being potentially dropped days before the election. It never happened. But, but recall Trump has already decided to not pursue Hillary over those emails if he won.
I think Julian Assange could bring the Demons to their knees if he so chooses.
Wonder what he has on Mueller?
Why is Mueller not in jail for Uranium 1?
or for loading the deck against an elected President?
or for coverup treason every single day?
Correct those emails were ‘voluntary’ request a while ago.
The article doesn’t say if they complied or not.
Maybe I missed it, but I don’t see a subpoena request mentioned?
Well, it is Friday. This has been for the past few weeks the day a fake news report is leaked and then found wrong, so you never know.

Mueller is flailing now, trying to find anything to make his Russian ghost hunt look serious.
Every time a bombshell about the Deep state FBI comes out, Mueller takes another bold move. First he indicted manafort, then he indicted Flynn. Yesterday I was wondering what his next move was going to be.
We don’t know yet...as the email request from Cambridge is actually old.
So that makes this a leak...nothing more.
But it is setting the internet on fire this morning.
