This election was an anomaly.
It had nothing at all to do with President Trump who is by and large respected and liked by the blue collar and rural folks here in Alabama.
We knew Luther had to go because he was dirty. He buried a criminal investigation into a sitting governor in exchange for Sessions senate seat.
The sad thing is, all Luther Strange had to do was his job, and hed be the hero of Alabama right now.
Kay Ivey moved the special election up to draw Roy Moore out and keep him from running against her for governor.
Its just a totally weird situation that brought us here and it had nothing to do with Trump.
People would have voted against Luther even if the Virgin Mary had asked them not to.
If they liked him so much, why did they humiliate him twice? The voters of Alabama can go pi$$ up a rope. They deserve everything theyve got coming to them.
The single biggest reason that Moore lost was 95% of the media in this country calling him a pedophile and a sexual predator for the last 45 days.
Any analysis that says otherwise is absolutely wrong.
Spot on.
Sessions...the gift that keeps on giving....to the swamp.
That said, the headline in this article is accurate but for the wrong reason.
As I wrote earlier today, Trump has tapped into a deep distrust of government, of the swamp, of people being sold a bill of goods in the name of diminished sovereignty and little respect for the Rule of Law. He (and Bannon....let's not throw out the baby with the bath water) rode that to the White House.
This loss is not a cause for fear, but for awakening and mobilization. There is a need for Deplorables to start their own "farm system" as the Tea Party did, for vetting and prepping candidates.
The GOP won't help...we gotta get moving on our own.
