Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents arrested nearly 800 members of the hyper-violent transnational MS-13 gang in operations carried out across the U.S. in Fiscal Year 2017. The arrests came as part of an emphasis from the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security that resulted in the arrest of nearly 5,000 total gang members. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials reported the arrest of 4,818 criminal gang members including 796 MS-13 gang members and affiliates during FY2017. The gang members were arrested for a myriad of criminal activity, including murder, extortion, narcotics and weapons trafficking, human smuggling/trafficking and prostitution and other crimes with a nexus to the border, officials stated.
ICE officials carried out multiple operations targeting dangerous street gangs. One of those, Operation Community Shield, began more than 10 years ago. In 2017, HSI agents conducted a six-week roundup of criminal illegal immigrants. The operation that ended in May led to the arrests of 1,378 gang members. Of those, 1,098 were arrested on state/federal criminal charges including 21 for murder and seven for rape and sexual assault. An additional 280 were arrested for immigration violations.
Officials reported that 933 of those arrested were U.S. citizens while an additional 445 were foreign nationals from 21 different countries. They came to the U.S. from South and Central America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Need to ramp it up tenfold.
800? Seriously?
I could do these peoples jobs standing on my head. Of course I dont give a crap what liberals or anyone else says.
I’m not trying to be jaded... I’m really not. But 800? That’s it? There is probably that number in my county alone. It’s like someone saying that they need to lose 150 pounds and jumping for joy that they lost 1. Drop in the bucket....
Problem is there are tens of thousands of them here.
Sessions wasn’t sworn in until Feb 9th & it probably took him a while after that to get things going, so hopefully 2018 will be even more.
They should send out a message offering free Super Bowl tickets & arrest them all when they show up.
From a liberals eyes, this means 800 families broken up.
I’m wondering if we have to pay a lawyer for their “right” to appeal deportation?
Now go back and triple that number in 6 months!!!
Oops, and arrests are good but where are they now - still in this country????
Make some "air mail delivery drops" to their countries of origin (like FedEx plans to do, fly them over then drop them at your house from the air)!!!
Penalty for belonging to a gang should be death.
Families broken up? Perhaps we should change chain migration into a policy of chain deportation!
You’re right, G. I’ll give it time. I probably am jaded since my county has a lot of them. The high school ones are prepping their middle school and elementary school brothers to join when they are able. I just have no tolerance for them.
