We can’t just blame the GOP establishment. Moore did a completely inept and pathetic job in refuting the charges and framing the consequences of a Jones victory for the Alabama electorate. The GOP should be dismantled as a political party ASAP. If Luther Strange was the guy to run in this election, they should have just left him there as originally planned and never held the special election at all. I don't know who was more inept here ... Gov. Kay Ivey, for overturning the original decision to have Strange serve out the remainder of Sessions' term, or Roy Moore, for running such an awful campaign.

It’s not so much that he was a poor communicator but that he could not acquit himself of the charges because there was probably a lot of truth to them.

People need to realize the battlefield for what it is and not the way they wish it were. Menendez went into his reelection with rumors of him having sex with underage prostitutes. The media buried the story for him.

If the parties were reversed here, we would not have heard from these women because the media wouldn’t have sought them out. Instead, they sat on this until it was too late to get Moore off the ballot, and they got what they wanted: an extra Senate seat for Schumer.

You are exactly right ..Moore and his “spokespeople” were horrible... Bannon is good but couldn’t do it all by himself .. A decent and semi-polished candidate could have won this thing ...

I agree in part. Moore did a terrible job in the Hannity interview and that was the beginning of the end. He needed to come out and simply deny thw worst accusations and he didn’t. He used lawyerese, and that’s where he lost the race.

He left us defending grown men dating 16 year olds. It took 2 weeks to start straightening that out, and then it was too late. Blood was in the water.

I blame Moore as much as the GOP.

Trump was right at the outset about the more winnable candidate even though Strange was a swamp dweller.

Now about Sessions. Never put a senator in a cabinet position when you have only a 2 senator lead.

Finally, candidates need to be squeaky clean in national level elections. If they have skeletons they need not to run.
