Drudge Report ^

Sadly, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans succeeded in what no Democrat could: Elect a democrat to the senate. This is why I left the Republican party.

Bannon’s intention is to wreck the Republican Party

McConnell is doing that without Bannon's help.

McConnell didn’t pick Roy Moore, possibly the only Republican who could have lost Alabama.

Maybe Moore gave creepy answers because he’s a creepy guy. Moore and Bannon lost this race and those who could not put loyalty to the truth above loyalty to creepy Moore.

I keep going back to this. Pick good candidates, smart ones with good character who are real conservatives. That’s all we have to do. Instead, it’s as if someone is out to prove they can get conservatives to vote for scoundrels as long as Bannon says to do it. Anyone who thinks Roy Moore was a good candidate has to explain why he lost Alabama. Blaming others besides him is just silly.

“The RINOs play dirty, as happened with Murkowski in Alaska, Cochran in Mississippi, and elsewhere. They are truly the enemy within”

We are in complete agreement. The GOPE are more dangerous and insidious than the Democrats.

Our favorite mailman’s son, Kasich, is crowing on Twitter today and the left are praising him as their favorite Republican. Speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

I gave him a piece of my mind and will probably be suspended from Twitter for my opinion because I didn’t hold back my contempt.Oh well, won’t be the first time that I’ve been suspended.

Yes it makes sense to stay registered for the primaries. We wouldn’t have gotten Trump if people hadn’t have done that.

We might have President Hillary or Cruz if it wasn’t for Bannon. Yes he made mistakes on Moore though. Moore wasn’t a fast enough thinker on his feet and communicator for the level of attack he came under. Look at how hard the Democrats worked to get their man Jones and how much the Republicans did everything they could to find a way to lose. Ben Shapiro even was talking on air about how Republicans shouldn’t be voting for Moore.

Roy Moore was also old here, as in set in his ways. Running for judge is a lot different than running for Congress.

Trump is very internet and media savy so that helped him make it.

Moore didn’t have the same kind of finger on the pulse of the media to realize what he must do to respond to what is going on. Lastly he may have been pretty much robbed as well. One has to get the turnout and give reasons for the turnout though. What did Roy Moore offer to Alabamans to make their life better?

Has to be about how he will help them, not about him and his belief in commandments.

Also riding the horse in wasn’t a good idea. Who told him it was and was that indicative of other advice he received?

Ingraham moving from radio to TV may not be helping out as who can do what she did on the radio? Like her on tv and she has great enough looks for tv but someone needs to be able to do what she could on radio.

This was like football game where one team beings in ringers for every position and the other team parties the night before the game and tries to play everyone in a different position for the game, offensive lineman at quarterback, quarterback at runningback, defensive tackle at wide receiver, kick returner at kicker, kicker at offensive tackle etc..

The relevant time period to consider isn’t 30 days; it’s 40 years. We’ll know a tree by the fruit it bears. And what sort of fruit has the political tree given us? Is abortion illegal? Are children allowed organized, public prayer in schools? Can a Cross or crèche be placed on public property? Can a baker even refuse to bake a cake with offending, anti-Christian messages?

Obviously no. I think a generation is long enough to evaluate the results of a strategy. Secular politics has been a lose/lose/lose proposition for Christians. We should shake the dust from our sandals.

You can dismiss a single charge, but there were 7 different women accusing Moore. You are sadly just lying to yourself and I’m sorry for you.

Bannon has never hesitate to take the credit for Trump’s victory. If he can take that credit, then he can take this criticism for pushing such a poor candidate.

I see the problem now. You believed all the BS about Moore whereas I know those women are liars. Every one of ‘em.

You claim to be a conservative but blindly believe the lies and slanders of the fake media. I’m more intelligent than that.

You ally yourself with the likes of Gloria Allred. GLORIA ALLRED!!! Anyone with any modicum of intelligence knows that Gloria Allred is the white, female version of Al Sharpton. Or, are you a Sharpton fan?

All Soros, McConnell and Allred had to do was to drag one hundred dollar bills through trailer parks and they found their willing crack whores to lie for them. The accusations against Moore were proven false, especially the lie from the old, fat whore represented by Allred. Forget the yearbook forgery, did you?

You probably regard McCain, McConnel, Ryan, Kasich and the Bushes as good Americans. I feel sorry for YOU.

My view on that topic is very unpopular at FR. For most elections and most times, I don’t see much point in voting at all.

Just as a matter of math, your chances of being “the” deciding vote in any given election is vanishingly small. We spend a whole lot of time and angst over our one vote in a sea of 130 million votes cast in any given presidential election. And given the electoral college it really boils down to whether you’re in a battleground state or not. Sorry to say, you could have voted 100 times over in NJ and Felonious Pantsuit was still going to win NJ.

Obviously in elections where fewer votes are cast, the influence of one vote is more important. Primary elections have lower turnout. The impact of one vote is still very small, but higher than one vote in a general election.

Given we have limited time and limited treasure, where can we have the most impact in furthering a Christian mission? In my view partisan politics has an incredibly poor cost/benefit ratio. we’re getting almost no payback for what effort and money we toss at politics. So why continue to throw good money and effort after bad? I think we would be orders of magnitude better off by skipping the politics and doing what we’re supposed to do as Christians instead.

For me, Trump is pretty much the last hope, if it doesn’t pan out, I’m pretty much going to give up on voting.

I’m no longer registered. The difference is fewer robocalls, no more “voter surveys” at all and I get very few knocks on the door during election season (every year in Virginia).

The feedback to my question (to drop my “R” registration, or keep it solely for primary purposes) seems to indicate the latter is a better choice.

That’s right - and that is the only reason I registered to begin with (to advance conservatives through NJ primaries).

One reason to vote is for the down-ticket issues; here in NJ my local school taxes cost much more than my income taxes. After the 2000 election was officially decided by 579 votes in Florida, it is hard to say you can’t make a difference. On local matters, a town just to the south of mine had a mayor’s race determined by 8 votes; a town just to the north had a school budget fail by 3 votes. When you’re Irish, 8 votes is ONE HOUSEHOLD - you have to try. The 2016 election saw Hillary lose key states because third parties siphoned off enough liberal votes; Jill Stein was our new Ralph Nader.

I haven’t thrown money at a politician or party in years; I’ll let the NRA determine where my money goes...
