Sadly, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans succeeded in what no Democrat could: Elect a democrat to the senate. This is why I left the Republican party.

Well, Ditch and the rest of the Establishment RINOs seem to have gotten what they wanted tonight. They’re one seat closer to giving away the Senate so they can have an excuse for not doing diddly.

Matt Drudge is a homo, is he not? He hates Judge Moore because of his opposition to poop sex.

I’ve switched to Liberty Daily.

We need to recount like the dems insisted upon doing in the minnesota race a few years ago.

The difference is that the Dems were doing recounts in order to stuff the ballot boxes with more Dem votes each time, until they had enough. If Repubs aren't willing to do the same, there isn't any point in a recount.

I mean another conservative that does not have the hint of personal baggage, whether true or not, that dems can use to build an exaggerated storyline around to defeat.

Why not just recommend a candidate that doesn’t breathe air?

I don’t agree with you. The people in Alabama who agree with you and who voted were insufficient in numbers to win. Pick good conservatives of impeccable reputation and we easily win in Alabama. Now, Alabama has a Democrat in the US Senate for the next six years. Bannaon bucked Trump to pick Moore for Alabama. The other fellow, Luther, didn’t have the baggage of Moore, and he would have won. So I think McConnell, McCain, and any other folks had nothing to do with why we lost this seat.

This is BAD. I did not hear about that until tonight. Doesn’t sound like someone who wanted to win.

Complacency happened. Average people don't follow politics with nearly the same fervor as people around here. They just don't get it because they feel they have more important things to deal with in life.

Sorry, that's just how it is. Real life intrudes - daily.

Who the hell travels to the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia on the weekend before his election date in Alabama?

Moore was this election's Hillary: arrogantly believing victory was assured, not campaigning much, and saying incredibly stupid things (with Hillary it was "deplorables", with Moore it was referring to the slavery days in the South).

“The REpublican senate PAC spent 30 million against Moore and the Dems spent another 40 million. “

BS!

If 20 mil has been spent on that general election, total, I will be stunned.

You cannot cite a plausible source for the 70mil against.

You are right though that won’t matter with a lot of folks on here. Oh well, live and learn. If history has taught us anything it is that some days will be good and some less so. Tomorrow is another day.

You are right as well ... Moore and his people ran their campaign the way it would be run if they were trying to lose , and he did ...accusations aside , he was a horrible candidate

“Bannon foisted this creep on Alabama and they said no.”

Republicans in Alabama made this choice, Bannon had little to do with it.

“Sadly, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans succeeded in what no Democrat could: Elect a democrat to the senate. This is why I left the Republican Party”.

You got that right. Republicans eat their own and always have. I’m 67 years old and Trump was the last elect republican I will ever vote for. The establishment controls the GOPe and will see it now that Trump is impeached, probably next year.

People were told here if they voted for a “pedophile”, their vote would be made public...and many other lies...scared too many people. People just aren’t as informed as they should be these days. I did what I could, but it’s hard to even broach politics in the workplace or you could get fired.

I get what you’re saying, but that’s traditionally worked to our advantage. Not so much recently.

That was my first thought too! They are followers, not leaders as long as they are on the U.S. taxpayers gravy train that's all that matters.

I find it hard to believe the people in Alabama did not elect Judge Moore and instead elected a pro-abortion candidate. Wow. The great state has begun it’s slide downward.
