A wealthy ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has placed a bounty on the heads of two former U.S. military and intelligence officials as part of what U.S. officials told the Washington Free Beacon is an effort by the Turkish government to threaten and intimidate Americans who they believe are working to undermine Erdogan.
A bounty of three million Turkish lira, or nearly $800,000, was placed on the heads of former Pentagon official Michael Rubin and former top CIA official Graham Fuller for what Erdogan's allies claim is their role in a 2016 failed coup that nearly toppled Erdogan's ruling government.
Both Rubin and Fuller have been vocal critics of Erdogan's, often publicly highlighting his widespread corruption. Rubin, in particular, has been in constant conflict with Erdogan, who once filed a lawsuit against the former Pentagon official in a bid to silence him.
The Turkish prosecutors office has issued arrest warrants for both Rubin and Fuller.
Current and former U.S. officials who spoke to the Free Beacon about the situation called allegations that Rubin and Fuller played any role in the coup attempt "absurd," and said the bounty is part of a larger effort by Erdogan to silence dissent against his government across the globe.

If they’re Democrats I can’t say I’m all that upset but it is a poor precedent.
They worked for Obama......
What it means is, Erdogan lost his morning wood ever since President Trump announced the embassy move, and he's scrambling around to find something, anything, to change the subject. Thanks RoosterRedux.

Is Dog the bounty hunter available?
Pre-Obama.
I’d say that the US can’t allow this. I am not sure what the appropriate response is, as this is probably one or two degrees away from the actual Turkish government.
I think it’s time to drop the pretense that Turkey is an ally and get Americans and our equipment out.
Obama already kissed Erdogan’s feet
IF they’re our officials, we need to take any corrective measure here if there need to be any.
Any foreign government going after our officials, should expect a swift response.
Now that we’ve established the scale of value, I’ll place an $8.00 bounty on Erdogan. Payable when he’s delivered to any jail in Texas in a county of less than 100,000 citizens.
Very bad precedent. Trump needs to have a talk with Erdogan and explain the facts of life.
First cousin on an act of war, IMHO...
Erdogan is more vicious and dangerous than most heads of state realize.
Ultimatum to NATO Either Turkey gets booted or the United States and its money leave. NATO is a farce. The U.S. pays and then has to do 90% of the lifting. It can have separate deals with the English speaking nations and the Eastern Europe democracies, and let Western Europe fend for itself.

Not a good development in US-Turkish relations. Of course the handwriting was on the wall when Turkey refused access to our troops to overthrow Sadaam. Handwriting, as our or NATOs ally. So bounties on Americans should be no surprise.
Yep.
Act of war. Bomb their capital like Reagan did to Libya.
FYI Graham Fuller is a father in law to the uncle of Boston bombers.
