Another Member Of The News Media Is Fired For Sexual Misconduct

Well, the sexual harassment reckoning that’s sweeping the country has claimed another member of the media: Ryan Lizza. The Georgetown professor and New Yorker writer was fired from the publication earlier this afternoon for “improper sexual conduct.” Georgetown University said that fall semester classes have concluded, but that Mr. Lizza won’t be teaching next semester. In a statement, Lizza denied there was any impropriety, noting that this was a “respectful” relationship with a woman he dated. The lawyer representing Lizza’s accuser said in a separate statement that the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the relationship was anything but respectful (via Politico):

"I am dismayed that The New Yorker has decided to characterize a respectful relationship with a woman I dated as somehow inappropriate,” he said. “The New Yorker was unable to cite any company policy that was violated. I am sorry to my friends, workplace colleagues, and loved ones for any embarrassment this episode may cause. I love The New Yorker, my home for the last decade, and I have the highest regard for the people who work there. But this decision, which was made hastily and without a full investigation of the relevant facts, was a terrible mistake."

Douglas Wigdor, an attorney representing the unnamed woman who accused Lizza of misconduct, disputed that characterization.

“Although she desires to remain confidential and requests that her privacy be respected, in no way did Mr. Lizza’s misconduct constitute a ‘respectful relationship’ as he has now tried to characterize it,” read a statement from Wigdor, whose firm is perhaps best known for representing clients alleging sexual harassment and racial discrimination at Fox News. “Our client reported Mr. Lizza’s actions to ensure that he would be held accountable and in the hope that by coming forward she would help other potential victims.”

Statement from Georgetown spox: Georgetown recently learned of the New Yorker's actions. Classes have concluded for the fall semester at the University. Mr. Lizza will not be teaching any classes next semester.— Jason Schwartz (@JasonSchwartz) December 11, 2017

Politico also mentioned that Lizza would not be teaching at Georgetown, though it’s unclear if he was axed from the schedule or was not planning on teaching in the spring prior to this alleged sexual misconduct development.

Also, Lizza tweeted about Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” remark that entertained liberals back in 2012. It did not age well:

"Binders full of women."— Ryan Lizza (@RyanLizza) October 17, 2012

Ryan Lizza is the guy who recorded Scaramucci’s phone call (which the “Mooch” thought was a private conversation) and released it.

Ofc Scaramucci was an idiot for talking that way to a journalist, but he claimed to think he was talking to Lizza privately as an old family friend (their fathers went back many years together apparently).

Nuts that the same generation of women who loved 50 Shades of Gray are now freaking out over some “unwanted” touching. It’s all about control.

Bottom line is anonymous accusations are BS. You should be able to confront your accusers. If this is allowed to stand all that has to be done to get rid of someone is for some crooked lawyer to claim to represent an anonymous accuser.

He did do us a favor in that instance. Simply spouting off to a guy like Lizza showed that Mooch was a foolish lose cannon that could not be trusted.

YES, this is becoming scary for men....but, I’m thinking of telling my liberal grand daughter who calls President Trump a misogynist that maybe she should worry about her husband being accused of harassment by SOME anonymous woman. Would make her THINK a little bit.

yes, I agree, good riddance to the Mooch.... but he seemed to think that Ryan Lizza played a very scummy role.

Of course, what can one expect of a liberal churnalist.

On Sunday, I talked to a friend whom I have known for over 40 years. He teaches history at the University of Minnesota. He said that at his previous university employment, he talked to his woman boss. She said that she had interviewed 10 females at that university and that 9 of them said that they had been sexually harassed by professors. My friend said that the next new area just waiting to be exposed is that of male professors exploiting female undergraduate and graduate students, and female adjunct and assistant professors (who don’t yet have tenure).

The professors are much like Hollywood producers in terms of the power that they can have over the students’ future careers. Their recommendation, or lack thereof, can largely determine if a student will be able to eventually get a future teaching gig. I would like to hear back from the college professors on FR about this matter.

It’s rather enjoyable watching the sanctimonious, hypocrite “male feminazis” getting their well deserved dose of karma, but I’m wondering how the female feminazis are faring in this pseudo-morality drama.

Are they winners or are they losers?

And who are going to be the eventual winners and losers at the end of this play?

When everyone commits sexual misconduct, no one commits sexual misconduct.

I’m getting to where I just don’t care. Show me a guilty verdict or shut up.

Zero “due process.”

Zero “innocent until proven guilty.”

Scaramucci was just a hatchet man Trump bought in to get rid of some staff than he let him go. It’s common in the business world . I think I read about it on an article posted here. It made the most sense at the time.
