The so-called Thomas fire has burned about 200,000 acres and is only 15 percent contained, Fox 11 reported. The fire grew by more than 25,000 acres during the day, the Los Angeles Times added...Officials handed out masks to residents who stayed behind in Montecito, the wealthy hillside enclave thats home to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bridges and Rob Lowe. Our house is under threat of being burned, Ellen DeGeneres tweeted at midday Sunday. We just had to evacuate our pets. Im praying for everyone in our community and thankful to all the incredible firefighters.

I am waiting for a clue about how they started. Of course the authorities know by now. DH went to the Napa fires, and we know 3 guys who were sent down to southern CA.
CNN will come up with some names drawn from a hat.
I don’t remember anything offhand. We already know that it doesn’t take much, when humidity goes down to 5% or lower.
Caused by Gorbal Walming, at least that what Gov. Moonbeam says.
Kanye West's house burn down yet ? Actually I kinda like Kanye, but his wife?
Hopefully Barbara Streisand's too.
If only Americans were more serious about climate change...None of this would be happening in California /s
Imagine if one percent of the monies they’ve wasted on climate fraud research went into a super tanker fire fighting fleet. That would be wayyyyy too rational though.
Ellen Degeneres praying?
Right
We’re going to need more goats
Amen to that!
I think the fires were started intentionally to bring up Glowbull Warming as the cause. But they got out of hand.
Bingo!!!!!! Praying, to whom?
Update: 230,000 acres - 10% contained
That’s about 360 square miles - almost a square 20 miles on a side.
For reference, the Los Angeles metropolitan area has a total area of 4,850 square miles. The wider combined LA statistical area covers 33,954 square miles, the largest metropolitan region in the United States by land area.
So an area about 1% of the greater LA statistical area has burned.
I am a survivor of the Esperanza and 4 other Mandatory Evac wildfires. We are a very tiny community compared to the current victims. I can’t begin to imagine the collective horror of all those involved. Prayers to all.
I read one of the other fires had eaten up 50 acres in less than 20 minutes.....fire is a nasty thing to face. I had burned a small grass area to make room for a garden and could not believe how rapidly it spread ....in short order I called the fire dept though the men at our company had it under control before they arrived. ...It was very scary to see a fire get out of control.
