The U.S. military allowed thousands of Islamic State militant group (ISIS) fighters to flee from their de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria, in a secret deal that boosted the U.S. fight against the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to a former Pentagon-backed commander, who has since switched his allegiance to Turkey and who spoke to Reuters.
As the spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces, a mostly Kurdish coalition of Arabs and ethnic minorities, Brigadier General Talal Silo acted as the face and the voice of the U.S.s leading partner against ISIS in Syria. The U.S.-backed group successfully ousted ISIS from Raqqa in October.
Weeks later, in mid-November, Silo handed himself over to Turkey, an enemy of Kurdish efforts in northern Syria. For the first time since his switch, the senior commander has spoken out and claimed that the U.S.-led coalition let significantly more fighters out of the embattled city than it previously admitted to.

I don’t think so.
Check Juan’s compound.
Ping, what do you make of this?
Nah.
Sounds like lib disinfo designed to piss-off Trump supporters.
I don’t believe it.
Under Obola’s watch as “almost-commander-not-in-charge-but-who-pretends-to-be”?
I would believe it.
The guy is a prisoner of the Turks, so nothing he says can be taken at face value or trusted. Certainly this issue calls for examination, but he could well be saying just what Erdogan & co. want him to say.
Did Trump know about it?
Maybe it was done without his knowledge. It doesn’t sound like something for which he would give the go-ahead.
New Squeak at it again.
Did not happen.
There were some local converts released after interrogation. Some were forced conscripts others were dummies who joined and could not escape what they were into.
None of them had approval from the Coalition or the Kurds.
BBC started this crap. The author who wrote it did not know what he was talking about. This nonsense has been “in the news” for months.
Assad and the Hezbullah did make a deal to evacuate some ISIS and their families.
Some of the Arabs condoned this, none of the other SDF forces did.
The Asayish did interrogate them. They are very good at identifying each sect.
None of the foreign fighters were released. The number of local conscripts released was small.
So? This went on on all sides.
The enemy of my enemy is my half-sister’s brother-in-law...
Fake news
I say it is plausible that a deep state column still exists within the Pentagon and certainly within the CIA that thinks they have a better foreign policy than does Trump (remove Assad even if it means dealing with the devil)
And adds some possible background to the story that Trump is thinking of getting intelligenve from his own sources because our alphabet agencies are not loyal to the administration and not telling him everything
For eight years, while Obama was King, Isis grew stronger and stronger and our allies grew weaker. Obama and his wonderful Secs of State invariably fought on the wrong side. Thousands of our troops were killed uselessly.
And Newsweak said nothing. Except, occasionally, that it was all Bush’s fault.
Without a trustworthy second source, I call bulls***. Ten thousand to one this scum is lying.
Oh, he’s a prisoner of the Turks, snip said “switched allegiance”. In the hands of Turks, anyone would swear their mother was a prostitute. Turks are not gentlemen.
“A high-ranking commander of the mostly Kurdish force has defected to Turkey”
Brig. Gen. Talal Silo was the one who defected, Turkey captured his son (or sons) and blackmailed him into defecting to save them. They are using it as propaganda.
Turks are the defenders of ISIS. Have been since Obozo was in office.
Talal Silo was a good commander in SDF. He would have never done this except to save his son.

Thanks for facts. Always appreciated!
