A 27 year old E3. Guy must be a real hard charger. Headed to last and E2 I think.

At the main chow hall, NOB Norfolk, I saw a guy with a gold E-3 patch, no striker badge, and three gold enlistment bars on his sleeve. How on earth could anyone go over twelve years in service with the no-discrepancy record that gold implies and never get past E-3? That’s some crazy stuff.

I went through Air Force basic training with a guy that turned twenty-nine. He didn’t have prior military service.

Lots of older recruits these days. I was 34 when I enlisted in the Navy. Best decision I ever made. It isnt that hes 27 and an E3 thats an issue. This is a lot more common than it used to be. Its how long hes been an E3 that Id ask.
Anyhow, hes finished. Theres no room for this kind of nonsense. One of the quickest ways to torpedo a Navy career is to be a racist. Falsely claiming this kind of crap destroys camaraderie and hell be dealt with seriously.
