Speaking to reporters in the Capitol, Pelosi said Democrats will insist on safeguards for those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program before the holiday recess, suggesting Republicans will be on their own to prevent a government shutdown if that language is excluded.
"We will not leave here without a DACA fix," Pelosi said.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of open border Republicans in the House and Senate who will side with the Democrats in support of DACA. Trump may have changed the default GOP position on immigration from outright support for amnesty to at least some modicum of border enforcement, but for the GOP establishment, support for a liberal immigration policy remains their litmus test for not being an “extremist” and their ticket to respectability in the eyes of the media.
It looks to me like the “DACA in exchange for Wall” deal has already been struck, but without the “path to citizenship” that was a step too far for the GOP to handle. This is just Pelosi setting up the messaging that she got a victory on this thing.
I agree. Please go ahead and shut down the government because dems are fixated on illegal aliens. Go ahead nan. If at any time dems would like to do something for American tax paying citizens, that would be great.

Democrats and establishment Republicans always seem to use amnesty for illegals as a bargaining chip to hold the legislative process hostage. The GOP establishment always insisted on a “path to citizenship” before they’d consider measures to enhance border security, while Democrats don’t even make the pretense of believing in border security, so they hold the budget hostage instead.
Proving they care more about fraudulently documented foreigners than US citizens.
Go ahead, Dems. Fight on this hill. Let all of America know that you put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens.

I have never seen the left this politically inept. Usually they’re pretty slick about hiding their true intentions with the media’s help, but one man has thrown all these people off their game. Shutting down the government to help illegal aliens is a “smart” move Nancy!
I've always hated the euphemism "undocumented immigrants." It makes it sound like some government bean counters and pen pushers just forgot to fill out the necessary paperwork, as opposed to a criminal act committed by illegal invaders. Fraudulently documented sounds a lot better, because it highlights the criminality of the invader and those who willingly facilitate them.
