A naval blockade is an act of war. It’s always been considered that throughout history.
Naval blockades are acts of war under international law, so one country may legally blockade another only if it is acting in individual or collective self-defensethe standard requirements for going to waror the U.N. Security Council has proclaimed the action necessary to maintain international peace. Take your pick, any of the above could be the answer. But. at lest, it will force Korea to defecate or get off the pot. This continual run of empty threats needs to be exposed. The little mole is aware he is badgering the bear. But it’s the only way he can save face with the poor way he is running his little kingdom.

Well, technically, we never stopped being at a state of war with NK. We just have a truce.
and strangle its economy in peace time.
Nope. Armistice means we are still at war.
But we ARE at war with n.korea if one gets technical about it.
The 1950-53 Korean War ended in an ‘armistice’, with neither side able to claim outright victory..... Decades on, the truce is still all that technically prevents North Korea and the US - along with its ally South Korea - resuming the war, as ‘no peace treaty has ever been signed’.....
That is way it will be called a Quarantine.
