A week after NBC fired Matt Lauer, the ousted anchor is still reeling.
“He is weak and broken and ashamed by his own admission,” one of Lauer’s former Today show colleagues tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
“He is my friend,” the colleague adds. “He is human, and he is flawed. But is he going to use his power to be a predator on women? Until I see solid evidence of that, I just can’t believe it. We don’t know the details.”
Lauer, 59, was terminated after the network received a “detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior,” with reason to believe “this may not have been an isolated incident.” A source later told PEOPLE that Lauer was let go due to sexual misconduct with that woman throughout 2014, including at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. (Another source with knowledge of the situation said Lauer had viewed this relationship as “consensual” and was “dumbfounded” by the accusation.)

I do feel some schadenfreude that the attempt to bring Roy Moore down has backfired so much on so many.

I’m getting my Talking Heads mixed up, since I rarely watch the shows anyway. At first I thought the subject was Chris Cuomo, not Matt Lauer. Probably because I would love it for Chris to go down in ugly flames the way Matt has done for the present. Chris has said some rather hateful things about conservatives over the years. He knows that management agrees with him.
Why doesn’t the colleague reveal his or herself?
Unless he’s been *very* unlucky or *very* stupid with his money he’s gotta be worth tens of millions.And at his age 10 million should be able to provide him with a comfortable life even if he doesn’t earn another penny in his life.
They will have to live with his shame for the rest of their lives.

The sheeple, in masses, have been taken in by the media all alone, while far too many in the media intentionally kept all of their sex-gate scandals as “insider-only-knowledge” while pretending the were “mainstream” and above political bias.
The media now stands as the naked emperor pretending to be wearing a cloak of respectability, which everyone can see is as phony as a three-dollar bill.

He’s just upset that his dirty laundry was publicly aired. He’d been allowed to get away with it for so long, he figured he was safe.
Who the hell cares? Move on and let this scum bag rot.
By the way, lets talk about the "income gap" between Matt Lauer and — lets say — the that of the person who cleans his office.
I think he’s mostly depressed to lose the $30 million he had the gall to expect, for being terminated before his contract ran out. NBC laughed.
Seems his contract also had a morals clause that Laur clearly set on fire with his behavior, permitting NBC easily to dispatch and dismiss his sweaty azz, for cause.
my best advice to him is to go to his remote door locked room....lock it.... and play Russian Roulette with a fully loaded .45 in till he wins....
