Former French PM: ‘Jihadists Act in the Name of Islam’

Former French prime minister Manuel Valls has insisted that not only do jihadists act in the name of Islam, but denying terrorists are true Muslims removes the responsibility of other Muslims to act. Mr. Valls, who served under Socialist President François Hollande, made his comments in a recent interview in which he stressed the importance of helping moderate Muslims combat radical Islamic extremism, L’Express reports.

“To say that Islam and Islamism have nothing to do with it is to deny any responsibility to act to our fellow Muslims. We must help them, we must help them to fight within themselves these totalitarian ideologies of Salafism or the Muslim Brotherhood,” Valls said.

Valls, who is now a member of President Emmanuel Macron’s Republic on the March party (LREM), slammed comments by French journalist Edwy Plenel, who claimed that he, along with satirical magazine Charlie Hendo, was “at war” with Muslims.

It would be most appreciated if politicians could speak this obvious truth while they’re in positions of power and influence, rather than afterwards.

It continues to amaze me, in conversations with seemingly reasonable people in America, the contradiction they seem to have on this.

A Muslim commits an atrocity, and the religion of Islam must be treated nicely, to show how Christian we are.

A (alleged) Christian commits a crime, and all Christians must loudly and verbally excoriate the offender, lest anyone think we approve or support their actions.

They never seem to see the hypocrisy in their reactions. Or the moral and maybe physical cowardice.

The inability or the unwillingness to segregate is the problem.

In america we are forced to accept a homogeneous black community that doesn’t really exists. There are bad and very bad black actors. There are a host of very good black Americans. There can be no segregation of the two. There can be no bad. There must be political correctness.

So it is with Islam. There can be no segregation. All are bad. The soon to be king of Saudi Arabia has segregated Islam into bad guys and the rest. The bad guys are radical Islamists, jihadists. They are under arrest.

The majority of the citizens are not radical fundamentalist Islamic jihadists. That condition is the reality of Islam world wide.

That really isn't the argument, or the problem, though. Christian bad actors are singled out by other Christians, which cause a self regulating effect on the bad actors. They eventually leave or change their stripes.

In Islam, the bad actors force the vocal and financial support of the non-radicals through rhetoric, group enforcement, or force of death. This ensures that the non-radicals continue to support the radicals with money and non-violent support. The Ummah protects the believer, even if he is a radical, from the unbelievers. There is nothing like that in modern Christianity.

The king in Saudi Arabia is painting this as getting rid of possible pretenders to the throne, or corrupt government officials. HE IS NOT painting this as getting rid of radicals. He might be doing so, but he dares not allow it to be seen in that light, because he would probably be assassinated. They have tried at least once.
