Even if President Trump stops calling her “Pocahontas,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren may be unable to silence the chatter over her dubious claims of Cherokee ancestry for at least the next year, thanks in part to someone whose Indian heritage isn’t in doubt.
Shiva Ayyadurai, a Bombay-born, MIT-educated entrepreneur running as an independent to unseat the Massachusetts Democrat, already is the early favorite for the November election’s catchiest campaign slogan: “Only a real Indian can defeat a fake Indian.”

I believe he's sticking to his original story that he invented email, and that denying him the credit he is due is a result of racism and a conspiracy between the main stream media and Raytheon.
Should make for an interesting debate.
Anyone who wants to identify as an American Indian, is apparently not restricted by law from doing so. Even so, Indians who may be declared to be members of a tribe may only do so at the exercise of that authority by the tribe in which membership is claimed. Thus, to be a Cherokee, and acceptable as a tribal member, there must be at least 25% blood quantum relationship to an established tribal member. And here is where it gets a little troublesome, as the Eastern Band of Cherokee, based in western North Carolina, the descent may only be matrilineal, while the portion of the tribe that was force-marched to Oklahoma recognizes both matrilineal and patrilineal descent, a problem that the separate locations have not resolved.
So at best, Elizabeth Warren is only a very dilute cross breed, which historically have been little respected by the members of either of the ancestoral families. But of course, with the liberated attitudes of today, nobody believes that any longer.
