US stealth jets arrive in South Korea as North Korean rhetoric heats up

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula escalated over the weekend as US stealth fighters moved into the region and official sources from both North Korea and the US said the chances of war are growing.

The bellicose rhetoric from North Korea came in two phases: On Saturday, a statement from its Foreign Ministry said US President Donald Trump is "begging for a nuclear war" through what it called an "extremely dangerous nuclear gamble on the Korean Peninsula";

A day later, a commentary from Pyongyang's Rodong Sinmun newspaper, carried by the official Korean Central News Agency, said US-South Korea joint air exercises scheduled for Monday to Friday are a "dangerous provocation" pushing the region "to the brink of a nuclear war."

It’s kind of hard to hide these things. It’s not 1940.

“US stealth jets”??

Kim Dum Un need not worry about stealth jets on tarmac in South Korea.

He needs to loose sleep of the B-one and B2 flying from a long way away.

Stupid move by Dum Un.

“He needs to loose sleep of the B-one and B2 flying from a long way away.”

Like the ones stationed here on Guam?

The B2’s here have been doing a lot of practice flights lately

No way to hide it - when I was there, the official stance was that certain planes were never there and never would be there - but you could see them circling for miles around as they left and returned....

Yep.

The fat boy with the bad haircut needs to be contained.

Look at South Korea then the NORKS. Such a contrast.

Head surgery on the NORKS is in order.

Nothing will happen.

The world will live with a nuclear armed North Korea.

Get used to it.

War with NK would kill to many people in a few minutes.

Are they really all that stealthy? Didn’t we have one shot down in the Bosnian war?

That was an F-117A. An antique with today’s technology.

The F-22 is the most advance fighter in the world. There is a reason why the US was forbidden to sell it to any other country.

Stationing them in SK is definitely sending a message to Kim.

Wow. To be able to see in the future with such clarity.

I once read that (to paraphrase it) a threat is not so much what is said but the capability of someone to carry out the threat.

Rocket man could make threats all day long about sending nuclear bombs to the US main land but as long as he did not have the capability to do so, it was just an idle threat.

NK is working overtime to achieve the capability to deliver on their threat. A nuclear exchange between the Soviets and the US was prevented by MADD as well as the fact that the leaders of both countries were sane. And that is the KEY. Is Rocket Man sane?

Stealth? Jets When the US Military begins to act like CNN is the enemy agent that IT acts like, that will be a signal that the deplorables and their leader have begun to see the win Until then, i gotta say, ‘who watches CNN?’ Ugh never mind. I️ know. Every airport prisoner. My sister and her family on her wide screen kitchen TV in her 10000 sq foot house in the ny suburbs and a lot of people like them, no religious items in the house, no cross, crucifix, kitchen blessing, Hindu yoga on sundays CNN replaces God I know of a ny suburban absolutely devastated she can’t watch Matt Lauer. They worship in this manner. They replace God with these media personalities. They put them before love of country. Look at that title. Who among their audience needs to know stealth fighters are in SoKo? ‘Ooh my son is never going into the nasty military’ meanwhile the kid is speeding around ancient westchester cowpaths in a rover intoxicated Brainwashing. The hate America crowd. Trumps support is no way 39%. We have to be done with this. And BTW we have to get the millennials back from the brainwashing their baby boomer mothers did on them and their lazy minded anything to get laid father’s put them through

"War with NK would kill to many people in a few minutes."

That's the point of war.
Now if only the NK leadership would understand that.

The capabilities of the U-2 have never been released. I knew the pilot that was the TEST pilot for that plane. They will not release the speed—the height—the distance—the refueling requirements or much else about the U-2.

He was furious that Francis Gary Powers got shot down. He said that Powers was afraid of the place & it’s acceleration. He said that IF Powers had just ‘kicked that plane in the ass’ like he was supposed to do, NOTHING would have been able to shoot it down.

Must have been a very old acquaintance: the U-2 was designed, built, and test-flown in the mid-1950s. Sounds like he was confusing one aircraft with another.

The U-2 has long been notorious for its fragility: chief Lockheed designer Kelly Johnson often gave forth adages like “one pound is one foot of altitude” so it was built light on purpose.

And Powers’ U-2 had no acceleration potential worth noting. The machine was subsonic and still is: at operating altitudes, only a few knots separate low-speed (stall) buffet from high speed (Mach) buffet.

Pilots constantly assert nothing can hit them. They live in a fantasy bubble: ground-launched missiles can be faster than any manned aircraft and can turn tighter. Fewer limitations - they don’t have a crew that would pass out in tight turns, and don’t have to tote the weight of seat, instruments, control systems, life support, etc.

It is a planned military exercise- Vigilant Ace with South Korea. That is barely mentioned in this article with the very dramatic headline. No surprise the entire article is worded to make President Trump the bad guy in all this.
