Top NBC News execs received complaints about Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual misconduct long before he was fired for harassment — but chose to protect him, current and former staffers told The Post on Thursday.

“Everybody at NBC knew about Matt Lauer’s sexually inappropriate behavior — and knew not to talk about it,” a current “Today” show staffer said.

“Women did complain about his behavior, and there were a lot of closed-door meetings before it was all brushed under the carpet.”

Another source said, “Some women did report it and were scared at the repercussions it would have on their careers. They complained, and nothing was done.”

I think the last time I watched the Today Show on a regular basis....was the spring of 1977. Since then, I probably saw bits and pieces on thirty occasions. I would use the word ‘weak’ when describing their journalistic abilities. They were aiming at naive housewives and teenagers. I think through the 1990s...it got to a marginal status and worthless.

Who watches the Today Show?

To me, it's a rumor, a myth. I can't even picture it.

Yeah, I looked him up, and even then I didn’t recognize him. Sort of a nondescript sort of fellow it seems. How can all this happen?

When I woke up early in the AM after brain surgery, on full morphine, I decided maybe I should warchnthese dumb ass morning shows, maybe for someone super high on opiates that would be the right speed.

Watched a bit and STILL THOUGHT THEM UTTERLY INANE. yes, on morphine those shows are still as stupid as f.
