On Friday, Michael Flynn plead guilty to lying to FBI agents about making contact with Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the transition period.
CNBC reported:
Specifically, Flynn is accused of falsely claiming that he had not asked Russia’s ambassador to the United States last Dec. 29 “to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day.”
Flynn also allegedly lied by telling the FBI “he did not recall the Russian Ambassador subsequently telling him that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request,” the information says.
Moments ago, President Trump’s attorney, Ty Cobb issued the following statement:
“Today, Michael Flynn, a former National Security Advisor at the White House for 25 days during the Trump Administration, and a former Obama administration official, entered a guilty plea to a single count of making a false statement to the FBI.
“The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year. Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn. The conclusion of this phase of the Special Counsel’s work demonstrates again that the Special Counsel is moving with all deliberate speed and clears the way for a prompt and reasonable conclusion.”
Yeah, the ahole Brian Ross who claimed a 53 year old TEA Party guy was the Aurora, Colorado theater shooter because he shared the same name as the actual shooter, James Holmes.

I guess no one realizes that you need 2/3 majority to impeach the President in the house and then you need the same out of the Senate. They can’t even agree on outing perverts by a simple majority. I know it’s a little different because Trump isn’t a part of their club but I even so I don’t see the house under the Repukes impeaching or even having hearings. That is the main reason why people want the house to remain in control of the Repukes. By the middle of next year the Democrats will have made no in roads into building their brand beyond being anti-Trump.
Hillary is making bupkis. Individual book sales, the sort that result from the signings, are a drop in the bucket against her *advance* (read: donation). Entire non-profit offices are probably being given extra personal days if they show up. She likely isn’t making expenses per signing, not to mention the physical toll those things take on a frail person like HRC.
Amazon has to massage the reviews and rankings to keep the truth from getting out to a wider audience. Her recent *coup* of Best Non-fiction was another gift and not a legitimate ranking.

So basically it will end on January 20, 2025. As that is when Trump will be leaving office. Maybe January 20, 2021 if Trump decides not to seek a second term. But I'm thinking Trump is loving every minute of the presidency and will want to do the full 8 years.

I am absolutely amazed at what has been accomplished so far.
Trump has the power to wrap it up. Cobb makes it sound like Trump may use that power.

I did that once going into second base. Shortstop put his glove down between me and the base, but he didn’t have the ball. One of my rare slides where I was down but managed to come back up and stand on the base (and his glove, with one foot). He started jumping around, yelling about his finger.
I looked down and saw a cleat mark about 1/2 inch or so into the glove on one of the fingers. Ouch.
The timing on this is important. Everything I’ve read cites Flynn’s conversation with the Russian ambassador in December, 2016, after Trump was elected and was President elect Trump not candidate Trump as the media is describing him. If Flynn was directed, by anybody, to begin communications with the Russians on current issues it was the responsible thing to do so his administration could hit the ground running on Jan 20, 2017. The real question is why did Flynn lie to Pence and then the FBI? Ironic that he is busted for lying over a non-crime.

Since when. The requirements are a simple majority in the House and a 2/3 majority in the Senate.
If, as we hope, this is a big nothing burger, it was deliberately timed to suck all the media oxygen out of the room in case the GOP tax cut plan passes the Senate.

That is the big question. If Flynn was told to do something after the election, then it’s big nothing.

Any Republican senator that voted to convict on the basis of a purported process crime can kiss goodbye to his political career, as the perv Bush Sr. found out in 1992 when a huge percentage of Republicans, including myself, voted for Perot, costing him the election.
