Yugoslav war criminal Slobodan Praljak reportedly died after his 20-year prison sentence was upheld by a UN war crimes tribunal and declaring he had drunk poison.
I am not a war criminal, Praljak allegedly said moments before drinking from a small bottle of liquid amid gasps during the appeal hearing in The Hague, a city in western Netherlands.

Someday someone will write the truth story about the break up of Yugoslavia and it won’t be the poor Muslims being oppressed by evil Christians the Media pushed. I don’t know exactly what went on but I knew were we being fed a line cowcrap about peaceful Muslims.
Easy. He just may be one of the good guys. He fought the Muslims and has been opposed by the pompous prigs in the UN. His big crime seems to have been destroying a landmark, the Mostar’s Stari, a legitmate strategic target.
Doesn't matter. He was in the Netherlands, which is big on Euthanasia. He was only doing his civic duty.
“after his 20-year prison sentence was upheld”
For crimes in the 1990s. So he didn’t get “time served” and released?
I did two tours there, and I learned then how bad the media is. I also learned that we were on the wrong side.
DILLY DILLY!
War criminal for killing islamists.
He wanted a mostly-Croat part of Herzegovina to be independent of the Muslim Bosniaks. That area had been assigned to Croatia in 1939 in the "Sporazum" setting up an autonomous Croatia inside the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and Tudjman apparently hoped to annex it, but as far as I can tell the average citizen of Croatia is not interested in annexing any part of Bosnia.
Praljak seems to have been responsible for the destruction of the old bridge in Mostar (later rebuilt).
This is all our fate on Freerepublic and every conservative when evil wins.
interesting. I've known people that returned from there and learned nothing. Why is there such a contrast?
Perhaps I paid attention. Perhaps my folks blessed me through genetics with a well above average IQ.
I dealt with 4 different networks, CBC, Global, CTV, and the Rick Mercer show, though the latter may not be what one would necessarily call news.
I met an old lady who survived the Germans in WW2 after they came and killed her entire village trying to find two airmen who were downed from returning from a bombing run in Italy. Rather than give up the men, they died to protect two strangers. They let this little girl at the time live. These were Serbs, the ones demonized in the media at the time. The ones Clintons were bombing and having fun with.
