Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), who is embroiled in a sexual misconduct scandal, is hospitalized in his home state due to stress, according to two local reports on Thursday.
"I just spoke with Monica Conyers on the phone and we want you to know that the congressman is resting comfortably in an area hospital. He's doing OK, as well as he can be expected for a gentleman that's approaching 90 years of age," Sam Riddle, a Conyers consultant, told WDIV TV.
"The congressman's health is not what it should be and lot of that is directly attributable to this media assault."

I agree. A lot of people say this is a sympathy ploy, and if he were 20 years younger, I'd agree. But at age 88, having his past catch up to him very suddenly has taken a toll his body can no longer withstand. It is highly likely his case will be "transferred to a Higher Court" as a result of this.
And that's just how it goes.

I think she is in jail for corruption. Maybe I have him mixed up with another congresspuke’s wife.
“Monica Conyers served just over 27 months of her 37-month sentence, at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia for her conviction in the bribery scandal. She was released on December 21, 2012 to a residential re-entry program in the Detroit area and was released to home confinement in the Detroit area on January 25, 2013. Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Ed Ross said Conyers earned 108 days of credit for good behavior and was released from federal custody officially on May 16, 2013.”
So she’s “free” to be appointed to her soon to be dead husband’s seat. Just like defrocked Black judge Alcee Hastings did.

In her defense, she was in her 50’s then. That’s not an “old lady!” There are some good looking women in great shape in their 50’s! He would have been about 11 years older.
