The Chinese state outlet, Global Times, which typically takes an aggressive tone in covering the United States, declared on Wednesday that President Donald Trump and the U.S. policy on North Korea had failed, citing Pyongyangs latest missile test.
(At press time, the article is not available at its original Global Times link, though it remains accessible in Googles cache history.)
North Koreas Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) announced late Tuesday that dictator Kim Jong-un had personally directed the launching of a new model of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), named Hwasong-15, and that he declared the test a success.
China is North Koreas largest trading partner, ensuring that the Kim regime continues to possess the funds necessary for its illegal weapons development. Beijing claims it has abided by international sanctions and that American aggression against North Korea is to blame for current tensions.
Its fair to say that US policy on North Korea has failed, and so has the policy of President Donald Trump, the Times declared on Wednesday. Specifically, the Times complains that Trump heightened the pressure on North Korea at the wrong time, intensifying the tensions on the peninsula almost to the utmost, leaving little space for diplomatic maneuvering.

You don’t strike me as the pacifist type... /s
I like your style.
Where we are today is a direct result of not being willing to stop evil!
Years ago, one of the first things learned in OCS was to respond to force with overwhelming force when possible!
If put into practice, we would not be where we are today!
“The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing!”
I would argue, if “good men do nothing” to stop evil, they become the instruments of evil, or are evil themselves.
This is certainly a time to EXPEDITIOUSLY take every measure to strengthen (NUCLEARIZE) our allies, and to fervently prepare our own positions!
The NORKs followed the guy into the DMZ. Yea they are serious believers. If things were/are as bad as that the guards could of bolted for the South with the first guy.
North Korea has a policy where three entire generations are all rounded up and ALL jailed for something like defecting.
For real.
Again there are only 20 SM-1 missiles able to hit a NK ICBM - the Aegis system will not work in this situation. Thank Zero. Hit only assured on live missile by launching 3-4 SM-1s per incoming.
Almost like saying - “Talking won’t work against nutcase Little Kim, Trump will have to blow a bunch of North Korea up.”.....
China is partly right. Up until January, 2017, our policy on NK has been a disaster. That makes Trump’s job of cleaning up the messes left under the rug by previous administrations that much harder.
Supply lines require supplies
North Korea has minimal supplies to line
North Korea simply cannot sustain offensive military operations and their whole military and governing philosophy has been to extort South Korea with artillery threats to Soul from artillery emplacements along the DMZ, which requires no mobility on the part of North Korea
That such an attack on Soul would mean the end of North Korea has been a given for the 30 years since the fall of the Soviet Union
North Korea is trying to follow it's extortion model to make the entire world Soul by threatening nuclear ballistic missile attacks on the worlds capitols and population centers with massive assured destruction if it does not get its way , just like North Korea has gotten its way for 60 years by threatening massive assured destruction of Soul if the world does not accede to its demands and extortion
There are rumors the previous regime put in place a deal that China’s purchase of trillions of dollars of bad US debt was backed by a large portion of the west coast as collateral. Long game is Norks hurl a missile above US and fire off a nuke to generate an EMP-its lights out USA. US then cannot pay on loans to China who walk in and seizes put up collateral as payment.
The article is correct. Trump has thus far failed to bring about cessation of weapons development. North Korea is a sovereign nation and can develop what ever it want. There can be no deal.
The only way to bring about the desired cessation is to eliminate Kim and his top level ministers. The question then becomes “how do we get rid of Kim”
President Reagan went directly after Gaddafi and narrowly missed. Gaddafi was frightened straight. Kim will likely not be scared by a narrow miss. He must be killed the first shot.
The good part is we don’t know what we don’t know. Trump is involved in the mandatory process necessary before the decisive action. So, it can be assumed there is a plan and a decisive final action
That’s a dangerously naive position for them to hold. If Kim has even half of the amount of artillery along the DMZ trained in on Seoul that he is rumored to have, he can make a real mess out of that city in a very short time.
That’s a classic example of Normalcy Bias.
I would take the opposite position, and assume that in addition to all the artillery Kim allegedly has, there are also caves a bit further back from the DMZ that have several platoons of Stalin’s Organs hiding in them.
I am reading the book “the Coldest Winter” that is about the Korean war. I am surprised that the situation that allowed grandfather Kim to successfully invade the south similarly exists today
America essentially had no military left 5 years after WWII. Today, our military is weakened by years of budget cuts. We hear about this and that but do not know of the actual state of weakness. There is political dissention over what to do, currently favoring continuing to do nothing, to kick the can down the road. There is a President that at is old and seemingly weak and much hated.
The good part is there is no inept MacArthur commanding the relevant Asian military. The Secretary of Defense is a Mad Dog. The Secretary of State is called T Rex.
I have come to believe that Kim et al are seeking to relive grandfather’s time and have royally screwed up.
This treasonous negotiation was taken without any official sanction, though Clinton readily signed on. In effect, Clinton and Carter capitulated to the threat of nuclear blackmail, not only protecting the North Korean nuclear program, but actually subsidizing it.
Its going to happen fast, and be very expensive.
Just watch.

BTTT; is this why Rex out?
Whoever came up with this zany idea should put down the bong, or Matt Lauer's shmekel, or whatever he's smoking.
Who knows. John Bolton is standing by. :)
Thanks for the ping.
By sheer coincidence, Obama is in China today:
