Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said today that the diplomatic options are running out after North Korea fired a new kind of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
The rogue dictator Kim Jong Un boasted that the Hwasong-15 can be armed with a nuclear warhead and could strike the U.S. mainland.
The ICBM was fired at 2:48 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the regime said, traveling 596 miles and demonstrating the potential to reach a range of 8,100 miles.
Bolton said this test-launch is "significant" because, if the early estimates are confirmed, it leaves no doubt that Pyongyang is "getting very close" to being able to threaten the United States with a nuclear attack.
"You have to ask when we're going to start seriously considering a military option," he said on "Outnumbered Overtime."
Bolton said he does not foresee "dramatic action" by China, leaving the Trump administration with a "binary choice": use military force to destroy the nuclear program or accept a nuclear-armed North Korea being able to target any U.S. city it wants.
Harris Faulkner asked whether a new round of financial sanctions could make an impact at this stage.
"Forget it. There is no time for this to have impact," Bolton responded.

What good is it to shoot a nuclear missile down when it is already in your air space?
“What good is it to shoot a nuclear missile down when it is already in your air space?”
If you pre-empt detonation, it’s everything.
West Europeans do not migrate to the US any longer — they would not migrate to the Middle East or Africa either. West Europeans migrate to Eastern Europe where the countryside is more familiar to them.
We should establish a naval and air blockade of North Korea which would clearly establish China, with it’s shared border as the only country helping them stay afloat. Then we should enact more sanctions on China. If that, too, fails we should evacuate all South Koreans out of North Korea’s artillery range in preparation for shock and awe.
Looking at this realistically the choices are very limited, especially a military option.
Any conventional attack will unleash hundreds of thousands of NK bombs, rockets and missiles on Seoul. This leaves little choice but to preempt the next launch with our own nuke launch that takes out the entire NK front line of operation. If they cannot successfully attack Seoul, they are finished.
The other option is accepting the next NK threat as real. Now that they can hit the US with a nuke, the message back to NK is, “if you launch, we will shoot down your missile and counter with one of our own, which by the way is accurate within 15 feet.” This is a game of chicken you probably do not want to play with Trump in the White House.
The last option is a preemptive strike to take out command and control and hopefully get Kim and his generals in the strike. Follow it up with VOA overriding NK media and getting the message out that Kim and his henchmen are dead.
Politically, the second option is the most viable since it places the onus directly on NK.
And once that accident happens a message is sent to them via the Swedes that they ain't seen nothin' yet.

no need he is on his way to visit his good buds Panda Face (Xi Jinping) and Able Abe among others as he shadows DJT. Zero can tell them not to mind DJT as he will soon be gone. And then it will be back to business - beside as Zero famously said: we can absorb a few nuclear hits ...
“Suppose that put up ten. Nine phonies and one nuke.
How many can you shoot down, and which one is real?”
Doesn’t really matter, we only have 20 SM-1 missiles ... You can than Zero.
Personally I don’t think South Korea is worth a single American life.
They are a bunch of liberal Kimchee sucking America haters and we should pull out and let Kim plunder them with the understanding that if he threatens any American interests from that point on, he will be carpet bombed into oblivion.
The whole fly in the ointment and the reason why he gets away with his shenanigans is because there is no way to prevent the South from suffering a devastating attack in the event we use a military option against NK.
There is no sane reason to protect South Korea, they are ungrateful and are not paying for our protection.
Pull out now,let the Chinese and Japanese own the rape and pillaging of South Korea.
SOUTH KOREA NOT IN OUR NATIONAL INTEREST, WE HAVE BASES IN JAPAN.
Bombard the North with cell phones, computers, mini-TVs, CD players. DVDs, etc.
Once they glimpse the outside world, they’ll never again believe in the Great Leader.
It can be done today by hacking the missile software.
Sounds good, maybe send a few CNN reporters to call Kim a Fake Communist!.
However there is ths
Face up to the threat now, or live in terror later. I am in flyover country. Whatever.
Let the blue state citizens of our metropolises choose.
NK can poke China in the eye without fearing any negative consequences. The two nations have a common evil founder — Communism. They’re brothers who share the same philosophy.
DJT can trust China no more than he can trust NK.

They need to be taken out in the boost phase.
If we can.
Not very encouraging, huh?
I suppose you’re right. That would seem a fairly expensive proposition though.
Though I still think we need to take them out, and the longer we wait, the harder it becomes.

Don’t We have something in Space that can zap any rocket heading toward us?
