DETROIT (AP) -
Police say an off-duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man who had broken into her home in southwest Detroit.
The Wayne County deputy was inside the home when she heard a door being kicked in about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The deputy told investigators she grabbed her weapon and fired shots at the intruder, who was armed with a pistol and wearing a black ski mask.
The man was struck in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities didn't immediately release the names of the deputy or the man who died.
The Wayne County sheriff's office says the deputy will be assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
watch, it is going to turn out she was involved with the dude
Kicking in the door in the middle of the night sounds like some kind of hit.
Bloomberg is disappointed, of course.
Black ski mask? Must be antifa dirty deeds.
I doubt it. Sounds more like an attempted hit or a simple home invasion (not that uncommon in Detroit).
A cop neighbor told me a few years ago that breaking into a Cop’s house to steal guns is a condition of entry to join some of the Central American criminal gangs that are now all over America.
This was right after I ran off a kid trying to get into his house through a window, in the middle of the day.
or some kind of lie
a “hit”? on a female sheriff? More like she and he got in a fight, and being a control freak, she killed him.
Excellent shooting! Another one bites the dust.
squeeze, don't pull
Likely a prior arrest.
I bet not
And yet because she is a cop it is perfectly OK for her to have a weapon for self defense on or off duty. However for the average citizen who is the victim of crime at far greater percentage than LEOS, having such a means of self defense....not so much according to many.
“...gun control...”
“The man was struck in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene.”
Center mass - nice work.

Exactly what I thought. “Exactly” followed quickly by “Good for her!” Yahoooo-o-o-o-o-o!!!
In most states the average law abiding citizen has no problem owning and processing weapons for self-defense.
Concealed carry? If one jumps thru many legal hoops in many states, pays the fees, one may have the privilege.........yes, a privilege. If I have to meet certain requirements and pay a fee, then it isnt a natural right. A permit/license is a state granted privilege. For sel-defense within the PUBLIC sphere, that privilege is required within many states.
